Personal attacks, and ones that quoted them have been deleted.

Please play the ball, not the man. It keeps dragging the site down and is making us a laughingstock.

I have supported every strike since I started at RM but I'd much rather have a strike breaker post on here as long as they do it with respect and within the rules, than some of the stalwarts of the strikes who think because they support the strike they can say anything they want.

Please follow the rules, if you can't don't post.
That is all well and good, but the rule about labelling anyone questioning the union as ‘managers’ isn’t being adhered to or moderated. Either it is a rule or it isn’t.

I’ve never crossed a picket line, in my 20 years of service, but copping s**t on here, for ‘daring’ to suggest that the strikes thus far have been pointless, makes me more likely to ignore any future action. I have stated my reasoning for my criticism of the union’s tactics thus far, and rather than have a debate, or a back and forth, you get idiots retorting with ‘must be management’ and nothing is done.

Either enforce the rules or allow me to respond in kind to these attacks.

Thanks.

3517 strike breakers

Great result though.
Not as many as Royal Mail was leading us to believe, this blatant attack and lies from Thompson shows he is not that honest and lacks the integrity to run a company like Royal Mail ,with him in charge if i was a customer i would be worried about using Royal Mail as a carrier of important mail and parcels, the board need to act now and dismiss him before he ruins the reputation once and for all .
Before Christmas RM were going round saying people were giving up, 10% strike breakers blah blah. Liars.

We could all tell it wasn't true from our own picket line experience.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Jesus wept. 2yr hangs around on here courting controversy- yet the minute anyone takes him to task on anything he pulls the bullying card. It’s actually astonishing to think that this character is a fully functioning grown up,with kids etc, etc.

I know in the past he’s stated he’s a carer for parents etc,but he’s contracted himself so often,I wouldn’t know where to begin at pulling his fictitious spiders web apart

Do what’s best for you.
Strike or don’t strike.

The name calling in here you will get in the office as well. They will ignore you. Blank you. They might not even swap holidays or days off with you.

But that’s on them.

They are members of the CWU who state in their own bullying guidelines ..

“The CWU believes that every worker should be treated with dignity and respect. We do not tolerate harassment, bullying or discrimination wherever it comes from. We aim to do all we
can to ensure our workplaces are free from the misery caused by harassment and that all workers can expect to be treated with dignity and respect….
(Examples include)
• Name calling jokes, offensive language mocking • Exclusion from workplace social activities
• Making stereotypical assumptions
• Isolating people.“

The CWU also encourages mental health awareness. They state …

“The aim of Mental Health Awareness Week is to raise awareness of the impact of loneliness on people’s mental health and wellbeing and the practical steps that can be taken to address it.”

So if these militant CWU members want to ignore their own unions guidance on bullying, harassment and mental health then they are just hypocrites. Picking and choosing which CWU guidance to stand in solidarity and which to dismiss.

It’s those members who are the selfish ones. It’s those who are willing to test someone’s mental health barriers.

So do what is right for you, because as much as these militants will claim they are looking out for everyone like front line soldiers as they stand on the picket line, it’s only YOU who has your own back.

So for having a different opinion makes people scum?? suppose it's just like being called a manager for exact same thing. pretty f--king pathetic.

There's a lot of blowhard Vic Spanner types on here who can't handle diversity of opinion.

I try hard not to respond directly to a lot of the name calling and judgmental comments but I do think that they have the opposite effect to that what’s intended for me.
It’s these type of comments that have made me feel that I couldn’t stand shoulder to shoulder with people who think like this.
I do think that there is a need for the union but these type of comments need to be stamped out, not by censorship by the forum but directly from the CWU.

This is exactly my feeling. Why should I lose out financially, by striking for what I see as a futile cause, when I have idiots like that alongside me? At this point I am only continuing to strike because of this ‘solidarity’ as I long ago came to the conclusion that this action isn’t achieving anything. That only goes so far though.

You strike to shaft the company back for shafting you.

You strike to fight for what's fair.

....or you don't strike and you bend over and be shafted.

Open your eyes. The company is bringing in these changes as we speak. We lost money last year for absolutely nothing.

Don’t know about you but last time I checked I wasn’t having to start work at 9am, I wasn’t being forced to work Sundays, I was still getting paid every time I was off sick, I wasn’t being forced to commit to deliver whatever workload they gave me, I wasn’t having to satisfy their performance standards or risk losing my job.

CRIMBAD - you are ruining this forum and this thread stop the name-calling NOW

Your ignoring me is getting annoying especially when you add nothing to the debate. Frankly, it makes me embarrassed to be a CWU supporter when people like you think it's okay to insult people just because they have a different opinion.
