This whole "its what we need" both in the literature and him repeatedly saying it.
No, it's what RM WANT.
That changes the argument.
Which in turn changes the dispute.
They're trying to get us to buy into the rhetoric that what they need is only so they can continue paying a dividend etc.
But what about what WE want?
We're not asking much, just for our wages to keep pace with inflation.
We've changed our working practices enormously over the last few years, such that delivery is unrecognizable to how it was even 5 years ago.
We work bloody hard for what we get.
But they just want to keep chipping away, and expect us to just accept that a pay rise is only achievable if we give up even more than we have already.

It's like they don't give a damn about our welfare.

Send us out of the office into the full heat of the day in the summer 11.30am - 5.30pm.

Make us deliver in the cold/wet dark in the middle of winter. Sun goes down and the temperature drops, but oh they want us to fiddle round in the dark getting colder and wetter.

Then put the icing on the cake, pay a pittance payrise in these times and reduce sick pay and IHR.

I have never in my 20 plus years at RM known such a demoralised and demotivated workplace as is the case now. Talk about losing the dressing room

They will try to bring this in as it will mean you won’t be able to cut off. Managers will be able to tell you that you’ll be taking it all, rather than you telling them you won’t. A complete turnaround.

This would make more sense at least from their perspective.... but the whole concept of banking of hours will not work based on how an average day is at my depot.

A question I'd ask is.... what happens if you are a part timer and you come in to an unprepped frame? - you surely should not be expected to complete if that's the case. Maybe they are planning on having another revision where they make part time rounds smaller and part timers come in to an empty frame at the same time as full timers, but finish earlier due to having smaller rounds.

Anyway. Just watched Terry's latest video on youtube....

Sounds like Simon wants us to all be fired and rehired. Wants us to abandon the USO. Wants us all on minimum wage. Wants us to become a parcel company and letters may totally disappear....

Hopefully the government takes letters from Royal Mail and we all go and work for the government and abandon Simon's crazy plan.

If you are a part timer then that saving is under the roof , there should be someone allocated to prep that walk as well as their own , it's called double prepping.

Plenty of other ways to earn / make money than delivering mail. Invest. Have a side hustle. These days you have the opportunity to make money whilst chilling down the pub and I don't mean on the fruit machines.

There are ways out of this race to the bottom. I mean, we are already close to the bottom, but the bottom will soon be slave labour.

I think the idea that Simon in any way aligns himself to the kind of people who challenge authority and the status quo is hilarious.

I can just see him in a cave sharing a brew with Swampy.

The definition of woke is to be alert to injustice in society, he should be alert after all he's intent on causing plenty.
