I will say in Dave Wards defence it’s probably been a long time since he done a delivery and would have a shock if he did do one
But I would imagine the job he’s doing now is pretty tough as well not so much physically but mentally 24/7 52 weeks a year
One job I definitely would not want to do
I think he would. It's a very long time since I went out on my bike and delivered from one or two bags or mail. The biggest change as I recall was the Single Daily Delivery which took out the 2nd delivery (which was only a few letters) and we worked 5 days instead of 6. The caveat was that we all had a bigger round. Oddly enough it turned a company round that was losing a million pounds a day to one that made a substantial profit the year after but we did have a monopoly on letters then.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
Well it was advertised as being up to 8 miles a day.
How many miles is it now?
How many miles do you think it should be?
I’m averaging 12-13 miles a day
I average between 35000-40000 steps a day
Not sure what that is in miles but obviously not as tough as prepping and delivering a walk out in all sorts of weather plus all the other s**t that goes with delivery
No yeh dinni mate. 100% bullshit
My duty is portering
Other then when it’s my meal break that’s all I do all day move York’s from A-B 5 days a week not the hardest job in the world but involves lots of walking from work area to work area defo not bullshit
You still don’t do 40k steps
Not every day but there are and have been days when I have done that amount
Like I said I will check this week and see what I am doing
Some days will be more than others some days less it just depends on how quick/slow I’m going each day it’s only an average
Nah no believing that at all. I've went out with an entire second duty on overtime and no even went over 33k steps. So once again utter bullshit.
