I'm all for clear and open communication but this desperation to know every word spoken between both parties is taking things too far.

When there's something of interest to tell they'll tell us but this isn't Twitter and I don't need to know what Terry had for breakfast.

As far as I'm aware both Terry and Dave are touring the country meeting members, I think Dave is up in God's country tomorrow.
I think your first line is all that people are looking for really-it’s arguable that there is more communication received from the company and their stance than there is from the union.

In a day and age where comms are free, simple to deliver and easy to distribute en masse there really isn’t any excuse to not put out a daily update-even if it were to say the company is still being intransigent then at least it delivers a clearer picture to those members who do appear to be living in hope of a postponement today or tomorrow for example.

We have other unions paying the wages of their members who are taking IA. Asking for frequent communication in a dispute which is seeing people lose at least 20% of their weekly wage is not the same as wanting to know whether it was fried eggs or scrambled.

The PE are meeting in Birmingham tomorrow to discuss future strike dates.

There was a virtual call today of all Divisional Reps , PE and Branch’s Secretaries to listen to the feedback from Branch’s and Divisions.

Thank you for the letter, Simon....

I hope we strike for a full week. Will be nice to have some time off that we all deserve from the hard work we have been doing during the pandemic and clearing 2 days mail because you don't seem to want to have depots fully staffed. :cuppa

Whilst I admire your determination I imagine you’ll be in the minority feeling relief at notice of a full week strike

Big Sacks, a well thought out reply, thanks. Nothing against the other post-ers mind. In a round about way a lot of members would be thinking & asking the same!

Looks like we are certainly in this for a good while longer yet. Just hope everybody has the stomach for it :thumbup
There is no alternative. If this lot get their way it is the end so we should rather go down kicking and screaming than giving them what they want :thumbup :thumbup

Here ... How come the CWU Facebook has nicked the Royal Mail Chat title? :no no

You'd better get in there lads and do them for copyright infringement (or something equally legal sounding). :cuppa

The thing a lot of people fail to realise is that RM want the strikes. It paints a perfect picture to the government that the pay rises are unaffordable and the company isn't viable in the current form.

Therefore we need to change the USO to make savings and/or we will sell parts of the business off.

Not exactly a very convincing lie though is it, when their financial reports are there for all to see.

But those profits were made when RM was earning a small fortune from delivering and collecting COVID kits, now that life is returning to normal we could well be making losses, ignoring the clearing the back log created by the strikes and it seems parcels are well down on last year.

Colleagues need courage, grit, and determination, to see off this assault by management on our terms and conditions.

If we don't produce those qualities in abundance, then this job of ours will take the biggest dive it ever has up to now.

This job, today, as it stands, is intolerable at the best of times. Management have never been so contemptuous of their workers.

Cave in to Thompson and his gang, and the nightmare we endure in our offices on a daily basis now, will quadruple virtually overnight.

And, as the last 20 years has shown, it won't stop there, neither.

Hardly surprising is it when people can barely afford food/gas/electricity, they won't be buying random tat off ebay.

I think RM is in trouble long term unless they can get on top of the expenditure on staff, year on year other firms like DPD, Evri, DHL, UPS, Fedex, Yodel will start taking more and more market share and if they can do it cheaper and better people will use them, that's the reality.
