The point is the PDA is sorely underused
Unfortunately the PDAs are already struggling under the weight of numerous software updates and additional apps.
The first thing they need to do is split the MC stuff and DO stuff off into separate apps, with maybe the DO stuff being split again into an outdoor app and an indoor app
It's not the amount of apps on the PDA that's the problem, it's the amount of apps in the background tracking us etc, if you swipe down from the top when you're up and running you'll see loads of apps that are active. The new PDA's have slowed down considerably sooner than the previous one, now mine kicks me out of the outdoor app quite regularly, I'm assuming there's no longer enough ram memory as the background apps will be set to run continuously.

No one can be made to work past contracted hours be they annualised or not without paying you … banking hours isn’t legal.
They aren't talking about not paying people for the hours they work.

The point of annualised hours is to change your work pattern at different periods of the year depending on traffic but keep the same number of annual contracted hours and pay people their average contracted hours each week.

None of that requires a PDA or scan in/scan out.

You'll just be told for this 10 week period your contracted hours are 33hrs or 37hrs or 44hrs etc.

What happens over and above those hours will have nothing to do with annualised hours. That will be overtime and that's where flexi-hours or "banking hours" kicks in which will use PDA data.

On a positive note, that potentially means loads of docket in the summer but less in the winter as we all know any job cant currently be completed in less than 6 hours ( 30 hours a week). that means at least 5 hours a week docket for a lot of p/t staff, and any full timer walk on a 35/37 hour contact as they wont be able to remove that work over summer, ( as we all know its not how much work there is, if you have a cul de sack you know your walking all the way round it even on a light day.)
Oh, to have the light Tuesdays when we used to have a bike and be able to take advantage of the gaps.

Some members seem to be complacent and think they'll just do the job properly, work their hours and cut off.

If these proposals were to be agreed that would not be a viable option.

I think members need to be aware exactly how dangerous these proposals are.

It would be an end to any control you may have over your working day both in hours and workload.
This was also my point to you earlier, maybe not put the exact way I needed it.

The way they’ve worded it sounds like you start at 10 am for example , contracted to finish at 6 but the workload takes you to 8 pm but you can’t claim the 2 hours over your finish time because they’ll add it to your annual leave.

So what’s to stop them then making your delivery 12 hours long ? Because you have to to it because you’ve got to commit to deliver ?
If this was ever brought in, which it won’t be, they could only insist you worked a max of 48 hours a week
I thought the tories were getting rid of the maximum 48 hours.

For the record , I can’t see it coming in either because it’s such a ridiculous proposal for many of the reasons people have suggested.
So like they care now do they look at the legislation on agency workers on DOING OUR JOBS or £1 MILLION fines on unions for calling AN illegal strikes by working people the people who kept the nation turning over during the covid pandemic we have vaccines since but before it killed people anyone we are all different. This is not a new manifestation of the tory party they are the same year in year out SELF SELF SELF!
