We've got the Amazon contract in my office and packet/parcel volumes every day, including Mondays and Tuesdays, are like they were in the Christmas period before we got the contract back a couple of years ago. In spite of the fact that we're running shorthanded and most deliveries failing everyday, It didn't stop them axing 8 HCT rounds and sticking up to 450 delivery points onto each shared van duty in our recent "revision" It's a complete s##t show every day.

It was a perfect s**t storm against us and you could argue we're lucky still to be in the game.

Really? Not many other companies could work during COVID. We did and made record profits

Not as extreme then as some DOs locally where they seem to have merged so many pairs of walks that it seems like they have half the number of walks

Not as extreme then as some DOs locally where they seem to have merged so many pairs of walks that it seems like they have half the number of walks

I suppose it all depends upon what you would describe as extreme. Most of our shared van duties have 1800 plus delivery points now and a couple have well over 2000. Not to mention the Amazon contract factor which our Coms tell us is not factored into "planning" because relatively few units are affected by it and RM operates on average workload figures to design its delivery function. Make of that what you will.

All I know is that the indoor work such as door to door prep and scanning to core route is a significant part of our work day and then we are expected to deliver what would be Christmas levels of packet/parcels in other units on a daily basis. it's no wonder that so many in my unit are simply working to finish time each day and seeing massive USO failures.
