Lost all faith and trust. Can never trust a word again
Thats the way I feel

To be so brazen as to not only say that they never once put compulsory redundancies on the table but to actually come out and say our union is lying that they did, when most of us have seen and heard it with our own eyes and ears from RM themselves, means I will never believe a single thing from the board ever again. If they tell me Friday follows Thursday I am checking a calendar.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

How will those crossing the picket line for financial reasons be able to handle it when RM come for ALL allowances? If RM win the dispute I reckon it'll be WHEN they come for ALL allowances and not if they do. For some that will be a significant real terms pay cut

Based on what we've heard today - a deal can be done.....

- No Compulsory redundancies.

- Sunday working to be voluntary.

- No official source as to start and finish times, but some dude on here claims Start time: 8.45 for F/Ts, 10.15 for P/Ts. As long as there is no annualised hours - fine - I could deal with this.

- Pay - needs a bit of refinement - it's not quite there.

Surely a few days of talks this weekend or early next week and a deal can be offered to the members!!! - right??????????

GET IN A ROOM, REFINE IT AND GET THIS ON PAPER!
This is a royal mail postie deal only ...the rest ie parcelforce fleet etc are getting zero....shafted as per usual

Even though PF is part of the RMG (or whatever it's now called) it's still a separate company. Why hasn't the CWU balloted CWU members at PF?

Agree on the finish time but what time exactly do you think most part timers start at presently?
Come in when requested by the manager, I, as a PT, typically start at 7. If I didn't my round wouldn't be preped.
Of course I mean Part timers doing their contracted hours ffs :arrrghhh

Most part timers in RM are scheduled to start around about 9 o clock presently so the “rush hour traffic!” line doesn’t really wash
The "rush hour" problem definitely would be an issue for some with this proposal. In my old DO (approx 40 duties, mainly rurals) the part timers, who make up at least 50% of workforce there, currently all start at 7am as they do full duty prep (or earlier if doing OT for double prepping/ips etc). Most do 4 day weeks due to the length of the duties.

Looking at that proposal for new start/finish times in that RM document the start and finish times in that DO would be moving back by 1hr 45 and new average finish time would be 5.45pm. Both start and finish times would be in rush hour for part timers. Finding parking would also become a big issue.

There would be no way I would accept this one proposal if i was still there.

And to think when I first applied for that job 5 years ago it was advertised as a 7am to 1pm part time role (although that was an RM fib too but that's another story!)

So, finished by 1pm. Lucky you.
I wish, finish the same time as the FTs. If not later as they can whip round.

Why would RM ado a deal now after all the disruption already caused. If they gritted their teeth through black friday , cyber monday and christmas backlogs so far they can hold out another week or two until new year . For them to beat the union im sure they wil just wait it out

Cos, in my opinion, a backlog is meaningless to customers, especially during a time when it's utter chaos anyway. It's long term disruption and uncertainty that will have an effect.

Simply because we're going to re ballot for more industrial action . How much more money are the shareholders prepared to lose and how many more customers are Royal Mail prepared to see walk away . Simon Thompson and Co and cork screwing this company into the ground .

People need to realise this is all part of the plan to keep the share price low.

When GLS is sold to Vesa, they will have a 30% controling interest in the company. They will then have to go to the shareholders with a buy out proposal which will be the highest share price over the previous 12 months.

Kellogsz, how true. There is no negotiation with fleet. Not sure about the others. 'No-one will be left behind. We're all in it together ' Really? I don't think so. It was about time someone mentioned this

Exactly. Quality needs to be much lower every month for parcels in particular, as mail is already at a low percent of quality of service as they choose to sacrifice mail for parcels. Its the sustained low quality of service of parcels that the union should aim for

If the company continue to be unreasonable in the name of 'modernisation', the union can never reach a settlement no matter what monetary offer is on the table.
We just have to remain resilient and see what the outcome is.

dont think you understand THEY DO NOT WANT A DEAL !
Starting at 8.45 is a massive no no. How can anyone agree to travelling to and from work during both rush hours? Nowhere to park and too late to pick the kids up. They must do a u turn on this or it’s no deal.
Is this start time everyday, I'm on a 9 day fortnight and virtually everyday is a different start time? And what about the long days we'd,thurs and friday that would mean finishing about 5.45pm?
You are on a 9 day fortnight now, no guarantee you will be once the parcels are taken away and the revisons are put in. Could be back on a 5 day week, a rest week rotation. I doubt anything will stay the same.

We're there ( parcelforce) etc just to enhance union fees and get greater % for posties deal.
Well always be shafted....always have.
