Is that not because we are in the light part of the year it will pick up in mc's soon,as for depots it definitely isn't as big a drop off of mail as RM are quite obviously pedling.
It's a bigger drop off than would be expected for the summer, going into autumn. RM has definitely lost some big contracts, up until very recently the storage area for the Tracked to be sorted would always have work in it, right until the last 20-30 mins of the shift, now there are a number of times a shift when it'll be empty. At least a couple of times a shift those who sort packets and inward Tracked will be made to sort outward 2C packets and Tracked 48
Thats because of strikes im assuming which is what is meant to happen,this Christmas is going to be interesting with the cost of living,strikes etc.
It was on the news a few days ago that people are already cutting right back on their spending on non-essential items
The bonkers amount of packets parcels tracked and letters I'm delivering must all be essential then.
The drop in volumes in the MCs will probably be down to new parcel machine in Warrington, in the NW that machine sorts tracked directly to some DOs so when the artics arrive at the MC and lot of the mail is cross docked so doesn’t need to go inside to be sorted.

The other day I had a really Heavy Parcel for an old lady, it was about 24 tins of Cat Food!
I said to her, "There are food banks you know ..... you don't have to live off cat food" She saw the funny side and had a laugh, so that was my bit of social interaction for the day!

Might be cause there's very limited options for getting stuff to and from NIMC to the RDCs and other MCs. Just about every shift now, staff on the packets and Tracked will get sent to sort 2C and Tracked 48, a few to do manual letters and flats (that is if there is any - they've dropped off a lot)

Yep, less casuals some days, for the last couple of weeks I think we've been at the leave ceiling limit so a few more casuals
All large non-Tracked and all large Tracked now get sorted together and go out together, will no longer be on separate yorks. Think it's only a matter of time before RM do the same with small non-Tracked and small Tracked
