Well done CWU :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle we haven't had a universal service in our office for about 5 years,no such thing, its all an illusion, i just done packets today with 3 election leaflets still in the frame and the boss telling us it all has to be delivered by Wednesday :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle ,our office is like the Fawltey Towers of the Royal Mail
I don’t know what the CWU can do if Royal Mail don’t want to fulfill their uso obligations, it’s been put in front of a parliamentary committee, the regulator knows full well what’s going on and has done nothing, . It’s regularly on national tv about what a disgraceful service we provide but nothing changes.

Remember, when you used to walk in to the office, do your ips/ runner/ porter then back to your frame, throw it up, tie up, bag it, give the driver your second bag, if you had one that had about 3 bundles of letters and your 3/5 overweight parcels and bounce out the office for 6.40/45. First delivery done for 7.50/8am ( city centre) and back for 9:30 where you had about 40 letters and gave your driver all the parcels because it was a firms collections. I thought the drivers had it harder than us until I became one and realised they had about 3 hours to deliver 20/25 parcels, mostly all going to the same big companies. Up the road or in the pub for just after 10am. Thought I had it made for life. :nana :nana

You could say that about almost everything now. Rampant dysfunction because none of it is setup to benefit you or I or the public anymore. Private equity and hedge funds want more tulips.

"If 1% of the population controls most of the disposable wealth, what we call ‘the market’ reflects what they think is useful or important, not anybody else."
The machine stops.

Code: Select all

I assuming that means 9,000 less deliveries per day i.e. the deliveries where "Evie"just delivers 1c mail on each alternative days? Although it we're losing 9,000 deliveries how can we only be losing 1,000 jobs, I'm surprised the CWU haven't said anything on this point, as if 10,000(?) more are lost to natural attrition that's still potential CWU members disappearing.

Any idea how many deliveries RM makes each day compared to the 9,000 it claims it will potentially save daily??
Sorry, I have only just read this thread.
Are we referring to 9,000 duties or 9,000 delivery points?
