Perhaps RB is throwing his hat in the ring to be the CEO of GLS again if RM hive it off/DK buys it.

Re: Rico weighs in ....
This is aways the retort. I'm not suggesting that at all. What you're illustrating is the hobson's we all face. I will be voting Labour, I'm just pointing out, they're not the saviour a lot of people are professing, and could possibly lead the pathway to an even worse right wing government.RTP wrote: ↑01 Jan 2023, 22:19Hey they are the only lifeboat we might have unless you live north of the border or across the water.
So what do yous propose we do. Keep swimming with the sharks?

Maybe ... Maybe that article had the backing of Kretinsky, who, maybe, isn't happy with the way things have gone/going, but doesn't want to publicly say so ... Who knows ...yellowbelly wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 09:38Perhaps RB is throwing his hat in the ring to be the CEO of GLS again if RM hive it off/DK buys it.

Both Parties seem committed to destroying the UK by spending money we haven't got.

Re: Rico weighs in ....
The difference is the MPs in the Labour party, not to be confused with the cabinet/front bench. The Labour MPs range from centre right to socialist, all with votes and voices. It's not ideal, but it means they're open to dome sort of accountability, unlike this government we have. As for the money, its there. Whoever is in government, just needs to tax it back from the few people the Tories transferred all 'our money' to during the pandemic. Its currently sitting in the bank accounts of people who can never spend it in their lifetime, when it should be circulating in the economy, as any healthy economy operates.milly wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 12:29What are the differences between Labour and the Conservatives?Halfhappy wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 11:38This is aways the retort. Keir Starmer is on the same side as the Billionaires, don't expect him to tax them.Halfhappy wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 12:56The difference is the MPs in the Labour party, not to be confused with the cabinet/front bench. I don't, that was my original point in the original post. I think where we differ, is I believe a Labour Government will be more easily pushed towards certain policies, that benefit us as a society, due to the mixture of MPs that they have in their party, as diminishing that mix is becoming. This is why I am not suggesting we continue swimming with the sharks. It's a Hobson's choice.milly wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 13:10Keir Starmer is on the same side as the Billionaires, don't expect him to tax them.Halfhappy wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 12:56The difference is the MPs in the Labour party, not to be confused with the cabinet/front bench. Re: Rico weighs in ....
In my many years I have never known the class, system more prevalent than it is now. It is run by the rich and powerful for the rich and powerful supported by people who want to become rich and powerful. The north/south divide is getting worse, the gap betwee rich and poor has never been so wide.
I never ever thought that I would live to see working people relying on food banks to keep their head above water. Some Tory MPs actually make the proliferation of food banks as one their greatest achievements over the past 12 years. What next workhouses?
A PM whose shoes cost more than most people earn in a month. A former PM paid millions for giving speeches.
There is something gone fundamentally wrong with this country. It has lost it's moral compass . I don't know how ordinary people can change it. Apathy over the whole political system has set in.
I'll get off my soap box now. I feel better for that.

The much vaunted Windfall Tax has led to Oil and Gas companies withdrawing from the North Sea thus ensuring we will have even higher energy prices in the future.
Policies that Labour will no doubt pursue such as Windfall Taxes always have unintended consequences.

At 68 surely he's too old to consider becoming CEO again, perhaps he's still p'ed off with Keith Williams after he forced him to quit?yellowbelly wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 09:38Perhaps RB is throwing his hat in the ring to be the CEO of GLS again if RM hive it off/DK buys it.

Whatever his motivations are, he still has an attachment and interest in Royal Mail as an entity with staff who work hard but are being ignored by the current leadership.TopperGas wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 14:29At 68 surely he's too old to consider becoming CEO again, perhaps he's still p'ed off with Keith Williams after he forced him to quit?yellowbelly wrote: ↑02 Jan 2023, 09:38Perhaps RB is throwing his hat in the ring to be the CEO of GLS again if RM hive it off/DK buys it.
So for that, I am thankful for his input and I hope it makes ST uncomfortable.

I have to agree with this. I support adverts to support the site, but it's nigh on impossible to navigate now, adverts intruding every which way.
If people stop visiting here because of the intrusive ads there will be less ad impressions, so self-defeating ultimately.
