Letter dated 20th Dec 2022.

Focus on tracked, specials, recorded since 2018.

Took 4 years to notice.

We really are 'on the ball' are we not?

Managers are very clever, in this respect at least, as they'll NEVER put anything down on paper. :no no

And with the draconian rules about taking photos within RM premises you couldn't even take a photo of any notice boards stating as such ..... unless you wanted to drop yourself in it. :cuppa
Nah, they’re really not.
I have text conversations with a manager from May with the exact wording “obviously tracked are the priority”
Thought I’d keep them for a rainy day .

Saying that, I also have messages from nearly two years ago to my area rep asking what the CWU were doing about Royal Mail so obviously understaffing, not covering rest days, prioritising parcels because there’s too much work for 5 days and making us a 5 day service. 🙄

It’s been glaringly obvious since before the pandemic. This letter is embarrassingly late.

I had a yorkie full of NHS letters in my MC yesterday . I couldn’t help wondering, or even if these letters will get delivered

When the CWU were asking us to tick boxes asking if we backed Simon Thompson (or however it was worded), I think they missed a trick not including a box with ‘have you ever been instructed to prioritise parcels over letters.’

Can you imagine if 95% of union members said they had been given those instructions? Instead of a few comments (and subsequent denials from RM) on forums and social media.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Do a poll on here, be interesting to see how it’s responded to……..I would but I’m not sure how to do it!

This morning we where told not touch any of the new trays of mail, pull & tie up everything already in frames & get out there soon as possible & get it all delivered, deliver every tracked & non tracked parcels & packets, when we got back to the office it was spotless all the floors had been swept & buffed, everything was clean & polished, all the trays & trays of mail stacked in yorks was all gone or hidden, apparently we had a visit from someone higher up the chain.

One of the reasons Royal Mail are so brazen with their disregard for delivering letters, is because the regulator has been a soft touch.
As far as i am concerned...more than a soft touch but fully complicit in this mass fraud

RM have been wilfully delaying mail on a mass country wide scale for years - Ofcom know this and do nothing

It is mass fraud and the British people have been screwed over for years just like the workforce

So today, my van partner and I cleared our walks. It's their day off tomorrow and our floater has been moved to another duty because "X and Y is in a mess".

Me "Well, if you move our floater, one of our walks will be in a mess".

Manager "That's not the priority, X and Y is already in a mess".

So I would love to send a message out to each and every customer on that walk I deliver to, telling them our manager has deemed them low priority and they will miss their last opportunity to receive their post before Christmas.

I doubt they'll be that worried as long as they receive their Tracked parcels they'll probably respond with "good, no more bills before Christmas"!!

This is where the company is absolutely dangling you all by the plums, even the militant ones. Reading the posts on here and other forums, it looks like mass failures up and down the country, statements trying to convince the public that no particular type of mail is being prioritised yet managers telling you all to do EXACTLY the opposite on a daily basis, contrary to the legal requirements of the USO, yet all you are able to do is moan about it on forums as any other action will as you well know see you out of the door.

What is even worse is that the union have been fully aware of this all the way through but until this week have not made any comment about it.
