Well if these strikes go ahead be it on one man's shoulders Simon Thompson for being the most deceitful parasite on this earth.

While I do agree it has been draining on one's souls it also has been draining on bank balances so would say NO but the fight will continue at sometime in the new year!claystones wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 00:23can we have a few strike days after christmas to have a nice long break

So this stalemate continues. Quite sad really that no breakthrough seems to be closer. I often wonder what will bring an agreement by the two sides? It cannot be all one way and both sides WILL have to make compromises but for RM to keep using the term 'Best and Final offer' is just completely unacceptable. You almost feel like they want us being out on strike?

Of course they want staff to be continually out on strike.
It speeds up their reform packages with Executive Action.
Royal Mail are deliberately acting as the agreesor with ultemately using the courts to settle the matter.
Have no doubt this government will rush through the emergency trade union bill currently going through parlaiment to stranglehold trade unions more.
The CWU has been very vocal Royal Mail being a vital public service during the pandemmic. Just like the railways, Royal Mail will fall under any new legislation targeted specifically as a vital unionised public service industry.

Let's be very clear with regards to the government though. Each and every day that goes by that they truly enrage the general public with their actions means they are themselves securing their own fate for the next general election.redlen wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 20:46Of course they want staff to be continually out on strike.

Honestly I cannot see them getting another turn in office and it will be thanks to their own failings of running the country.
People won't forget all this mess with strikes etc nor the parties during lock down when everyone had to stay away from loved ones and the cost of living crisis.
If they force through new legislation with trade union laws this will be another reason people will vote against them. You get the feeling they do not want you to not have a say when it comes to work matters etc.
