I hope this isn’t going to be another instance of Dave Ward says he’s going to speaking to shareholders and then we never hear what happened? If it happened.
Spot on…..not heard a thing about the meeting with shareholders or at ACAS with RM. Judging by the CWU posts on Twitter I don’t think they’ve agreed anything…….

Anthony Bouch
shareholder meeting was cancelled as meeting RM at ACAS was a priority.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Yes I heard the shareholders meeting was cancelled yesterday for a meeting with RM & ACAS and the shareholders meeting was put back to today. Not sure how true this was.

Saw a quick snippet on Twitter from Dave. They are meeting with RM again today even though the employer knows that the union has no interest in accepting the ‘new & improved’ offer.

Another publicity stunt from team Simon,or….?

This looks like Simon is calling the shots on when and when not to have meetings. Hes very controlling and manipulating at the same time.

He is showing many psychopathic traits. This makes him almost impossible to negotiate with. I strongly believe these meetings are just a waste of time. I would be seriously surprised if he all of a sudden gave in. Not gonna happen. I am still not sure about his intentions. He clearly made a lof of mess already, mess unlikely to be cleaned before Christmas even if we stopped striking next week.

All this letter this, meeting that is just ticking boxes and PR

For an acceptable agreement to be made one side will have to a make a major concession(s)

I just do not see that this side of Christmas or the other side either

IMO , this was a mistake. If another meeting is arranged it must not be cancelled again

Given he's the one making the offers its not like the CWU can arrange the meetings themselves.

Given there's further meetings taking place you can hope ST is prepared to move as otherwise surely the one meeting would be enough?

I guess we won't know for certain, but I see this as a positive. To me, the prospect of a shareholder meeting, seems to have got ST back to the table. Whatever is being discussed must be progressing, as I can't see why the union would be letting this roll into another day of talking. I think it's worth bearing in mind, the CWU have still got the shareholder meeting card to play. If talks break down, they can move forward with it. Nothing is lost, and having talks is potentially a gain.

Can the shareholders just turn up at the drop of a hat?
According to out Divisional rep hardly any of them live in the UK.

If they had made plans to attend the first meeting and it got cancelled at such short notice, I can't see any making much effort to attend a rearranged meeting.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
