I think some serious thought needs to go into this.

Personally I think Simon is trying to provoke a knee jerk reaction, the union will call too many strike days too early hoping that our members will start to struggle financially and lose faith in the union leading to a collapse on our side long before Christmas.

It's the only logical explanation for his behaviour assuming that his behaviour is of course following any kind of logic. If it isn't it probably doesn't matter what we do anyway.

We need to think what Simon wants us to do... and not do that.

It's only an opinion though.

Your right. There’s more going on here than We are being told.I suspect He is on His way out and just wants to get as much as He can out of it. It won’t bother Him after that.

Why wasn’t Terry involved in the update video this evening? Davie did a good job in his absence.

Need to get the 'work to rule' ballot sorted asap and once thats added to our armoury, hit RM with a concerted program of fortnightly rolling strikes interspersed with a continuous work to rule. Maximum damaging effect for arguably the least individual financial hit.

Orchestrating a national work to rule operation is extremely difficult.

It puts a hell of a lot of individual pressure on posties.

It may sound easy, 'just work your time'.. but there are a lot of people who don't want that potential daily confrontation with their managers.

There are also many who rely on that extra few pounds, especially in the current climate.

I think it's a lot to ask. The nationwide bullying and intimidation would go through the roof long term.

Tough crap , needs must , we are all losing money now anyway through strikes so this should be the next step.

I think we need to remain calm but having said that I think the next round of strikes need to be substantial.
My personal preference would be a Friday,Saturday and Sunday all out then rolling strikes into the next week with Distribution out Monday/Tuesday, processing Wednesday/Thursday Deliveries Friday/Saturday and Logistics Sunday/Monday

I understand peoples concerns around finances so I would plan this around the end of October to give a bit of time for people to plan for it.

It’s definitely the most important dispute I’ve been involved in in my 25 years and it’s one we cannot afford to lose. I think we will win this dispute but it will be tough and will require us members to step up make a big financial sacrifice. It’s never easy but it has to be done ✊✊

Cant see work to rule having any effect at all on RM
1, They will just flood offices with agency
2, Its a lot easier for a fellow worker to just ignore a work to rule than it is to cross a picket line especially when they see agency staff getting mountains of overtime & the measure having no effect at all.
This is going to be a long battle we have to get the balance right between striking & keeping members finances afloat to keep their hearts in the battle.
Think next one could be a 4 day one over 2 weeks Fri/Sat one week then Mon/Tue the next.
Then look to do it again or similar over the black friday cyber monday weeks.
With CWU making clear they intend to ramp it up over xmas & new year if no agreement made.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

Yeah I get that sentiment, but we have a lot of vulnerable colleagues who also need consideration.

Correct and in the meantime test the water with a rolling strike until we get to November. Two day mail centre, next delivery and then drivers in any order. There has been calls for it on here already and its worked before.
