based on the letter sent by the CWU to the government today - it doesn't bode well....
them 'coming back to us tomorrow' probably means bugga all.

i expect talks to have stalled by weds evening and then the cwu need to announce further strike days,14 days notice isn't it?
and preferably fri to tues but MUST also include the sunday so 2 days off our pay packets for 2 weeks and a really big hit in 1 fell swoop, same loss of pay we'll have had by friday where it hasn't really caused any havoc at our d/o, the sunday volunteer brigade are pi55ing themselves at the money coming in

Let me guess.... it's getting too close to Christmas, so we'll postpone talks till after New Year.

No way we get 10% whatever happens .
Inflation will reduce at somepoint .
I'm out on strike until we get a decent deal with no strings despite not having much spare cash each month .
If we are not careful we will end up like the DPD driver I spoke to Sat who had a full van and 6 hrs of jogging / running up drives .
8% this yr with 5% next and no strings I'd be happy with .
Sundays ,loss of Sick pay , annualised hrs the big issues to avoid for me .
Duty holders Mon -Fri then newer staff with Sunday in contracts plus Reserves covering Sat parcels and SD

People have short memories. In the last dispute RM could have resolved it by talks but instead took it too court. Nothings changed.

Re: It's good to talk: Update on Royal Mail Group dispute
I seem to remember last time we took strike action we done the Friday and Saturday and the Monday and Tuesday of the following week and the assumption was we would lose 2 days pay per week for 2 weeks. What actually happened was, because the cut off day for payroll was Tuesday, they took all 4 days pay in one week leaving some people with only one days pay that week. I also seem to remember them doing this without telling us so no one knew until they opened their payslip.world class male wrote: ↑05 Sep 2022, 17:53i expect talks to have stalled by weds evening and then the cwu need to announce further strike days,14 days notice isn't it?

Keep turning the screw. They will pounce if they see signs of weakness. Announce more strike dates.
