So rude Darren the solicitor MP on his first term of office wants Simon to say it is company policy to prioritise parcels over letters... Thereby justifying that the company is failing the USO and it is dysfunctional and needed to be sanctioned with giving the employees a 10% pay rise with no change to working patterns and to employ as many people as possible to cover sometimes 8% absence with no change in productivity and/or bring royal mail back into public ownership?

I don't get his game except that he is making a name for himself and stuck right up the Union's backside...

There is nowhere you will find that it is official company policy to prioritise parcels over letter. Premium products being given a priority is not quite the same thing, because ordinary parcels too are left sometimes.

He said something like it was an abuse of English to say that operational (paraphrase) circumstances sometimes dictate that letters will be left as opposed to parcels... What is wrong with that?

High levels of absence will come into the same operational reality not just strikes and Pandemic - Ricky did not explain that fully but kept on about strikes and recovery and Pandemic. No one wants to be doubling up on parcels for the next day (if the next day is quieter).

They should have done the Lie detector test but ST would have failed it because he just couldn't answer a simple YES or NO to whether there were systematic failures in the Royal Mail.

I mean if he honestly didn't think there were any systematic failures in Royal Mail then he could just have said NO!! The fact that he couldn't answer suggests otherwise....

The abuse of English comment was in regards Mcauley saying they would never say a postie was too slow.

I am not totally defending the guys but it was a bully job by MPs in league with the Union...

Personally, I dont give much hoot about the USO and the survey showing that most people wouldn't miss the Saturday letter delivery is accurate. Business will not care and most customers including myself are not desperate for Saturday letters. Such a move will make Royal Mail more profitable - for me, that is the most important things.

A lot of Posties are hypocritical when it comes to the USO and providing these so called public service. We do a job and are useful in the community but we are no Postman Pat; those days are gone, you might be on round where you meet and talk to very few people.

No Saturday letter mean just doing parcels and more Saturdays free - I wouldn't be happier!

Apparently, the non payment of a few days absence was just limited to strike period... People can correct me if I am wrong but folks are now being paid and a manager confirmed so, just today.

MPs are not lord and master; and it was not a court of law even if Darren Jones used to be a solicitor; not even a Barrister, but do full of his own importance
