Think the quote of the morning was "We run the company, not MPs, you do what we tell you".

Ofcom need to tell them that they oversee the USO and smack Royal Mail with a massive fine and keep hitting them with massive fines as they have no intention to deliver the USO going forwards.

If you did but realise it, Thompson and McAuley have handed you some ammunition on a plate by their statements to the Select Committee - on national live TV - that no particular type of mail is prioritised and all mail is treated with the same importance.

You posties are hauled over the coals/suspended/sacked by your managers now for the pettiest of things.

If your manager tells you now that you are to leave letters in - he is clearly breaching not only company policy but the legal USO as well and must be reported him/herself immediately. After all, he/she is only an employee the same as posties.

You know now that this wilful delay will not be supported by the board.....time for managers to do what they get large salaries to do!

There were a few loops brought back on a couple of deliveries. So obviously, the conversation between the COM and staff must have leaned towards take it out with you and give us a call to let us know what you will be bringing back.

The end result is likely that managers don't answer their phones and it gets brought back ready for the next day. They were just trying to force you into taking the extra lapsing which wouldn't normally be an issue if they weren't hellbent on lapsing more and more walks. The irony in our office is that there are plenty of staff willing to do docket, so there's really no excuse.

It's unfortunate that a COM has to do this and they themselves hope that it doesn't get reported, but that's what they get their bonuses for. Most of them used to be postie's so it's not like they are unfamiliar with going out on deliveries and doing the work themselves!!

Cant wait to get back next week when changes start. Been failing loads apparently, until now we've had no bullying from managers - we've been helpful before but that would stop. Think there needs a massive reaction to yearly figures and a big change towards us posties. Not counting any chickens

In our office it's the usual take it all out and bring back what you cannot finish. Despite the fact that there's no chance of completion when the mail you have 2/3 days mail on the frame. So, waste time bagging up what you won't complete, waste time putting it back in the frame the following day. The management can then claim the frames are cleared. Load of bollocks.

Also you should use your PDA to call them. The office number should be on there and I just call that and if no one answers I try again and if still no answer I bring stuff back (when I don’t want to go over which doesn’t happen often TBF).
