Re: Strike dates?
Ward was on LBC the night of the result being announced, sounding fairly pragmatic. Admitted the company was in a tough position, due to the current economic climate and the dire financial state of Royal Mail. Strike action should always be the last resort, bare in mind. Added to that the fact the union claimed winning the ballot secures a deal. Time needs to be given if there is any chance of an agreement.

Re: Strike dates?
I doubt that any local rep is going to have some inside gen on the negotiations.chickenwittle wrote: ↑21 Feb 2023, 11:14Heard from a rep this morning that good progress is being made , read into that what you will.![]()
I hope that progress is being made and that further strikes won't actually be needed but, in the same way that RM seem to be pressing ahead with their plans we should be announcing a full week of strike action around the end of March if an agreement hasn't been reached by then. That will allow members to put away a day's pay a week in advance (as if we were having a series of ineffectual one day strikes) knowing that this strike may happen.

Re: Strike dates?
If the PEC are meeting tomorrow, that means the first possible strike date will be Wednesday 15th March.
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday 19th…

Will any amount of time bridge the chasm between both sides though?
When the gap is so huge, there is no middle ground to be found.
There will need to be a major climbdown from one or the other sides.

Re: Strike dates?
Is the question - are there rumours? There are always rumours.
We are going into administration.
Kretinsky is going to buy the company.
Simon has been abducted by aliens.
And others that are plain silly.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
