It's not a rumour at our DO as it's been confirmed tomorrow we'll just be delivering parcels and whatever's still left in the frame, unless we get a massive influx of parcels I can't there'll be sufficient work for those who normally just use an HCT on their rounds. Apparently all out post is now being stored at the regional MC, not even the local MC. I can see the period after Christmas will be absolutely horrific, mail wise.Barnacle wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 17:58The rumour is that there will only be parcels tomorrow. When leaving the office today I overheard a manager telling a colleague who was putting mech into his frame, to only put it in if he was about to deliver it. The instruction being that any tray mail should be left under the frame tomorrow.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 17:35What's the chances of do's being cleared tomorrow, our comdom reckons it's going to be quiet, the only way our place will have any chance is if no mail whatsoever turns up and that's still pushing it.
So that is how they are going to achieve ‘clear frames’.
Managers are enabling the bonfire.

Is this still a thing? Have had them in the mixed trays (that were on the floor for 5 days) in with the large parcels and in the parcel sleeves and that’s just the last 2 days.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 19:25I'm expecting SDs to be so busy tonight that anyone who's SD locker trained will be in there

Ours is totally rammed with packets and every frame is chocka with letters...I boxed 4 trays in today and cleared all the manual flats, when I came back off delivery, there's another 5 trays under my fitting. I can image it will be dire on Wednesday when we go back.

Hilariously, given that we know they have stockpiled the mail, we were told that they are expecting mail to drop to ‘nothing’ after Christmas and so we will be doing absorption every day as several walks are being permanently absorbed into other walks.guardianangel wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 21:32we have enough work for a month even if nothing came in until january 25th
In other words, longer walks, fewer staff.

Happening at ours they’ve put an extra couple of loops onto some frames that were being lapsed. Basically trying to say it’s on your frame now you must clear it. They will eventually put the whole postcode onto one massive frame and say it can be cleared no problem then act appalled when it all gets handed back.Barnacle wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 22:03Hilariously, given that we know they have stockpiled the mail, we were told that they are expecting mail to drop to ‘nothing’ after Christmas and so we will be doing absorption every day as several walks are being permanently absorbed into other walks.guardianangel wrote: ↑21 Dec 2022, 21:32we have enough work for a month even if nothing came in until january 25th
