OFCOM must know what's going, or at least could know if they bothered to ask anybody.
Have OFCOM given them some leeway like in the Covid era because of IA? So they don't care but no fine will be incurred.

If these orders were issued from monday then it is perfectly correct and inline with the directive to the public RE last posting date for 1st class fri 16th dec.

It is quite correct that this week only Tracked and SD will be delivered.

THEY WERE TOLD
They were maybe told
But they were still charged the full price for a service they are not going to get
It’s basically fraud on a massive scale

Our managers have had a sudden change of direction last few days and told us to do as much mail and tracked as we can and bring back what cant be done - even if its tracked parcels

Must have got wind that this investigation was coming
It's wilful delay because they are making you take everything out without resourcing the actual delivery of the letters which are days, if not weeks, old, They'll get their bonuses though. :wave

If there's insufficient capacity to deliver letters and parcels before Christmas then is makes sent to me to just deliver the parcels etc, personally I'd be far more annoyed if a present didn't arrive than just Christmas cards or the usual junk mail.
What about a hospital appointment or credit card?

Ive had a few people ask me for credit cards, I waded through my trays and found them! No Xmas tip though so I shouldn't have bothered... Only kidding! nice people.
So I was glad to help.

It's great security when you have 5 days of mail in the frame and the credit card is sitting next to the pin letter.
I got a new Sainsbury's credit card last week, with a letter saying your pin will follow in the next few days. I'd already got it 2 days before!

Yes, fruad does come to mind especially when your pretending that the strikes are causing the back log, which they are to some extent.

Customers are being duped into thinking that a 1st class letter will arrive the next day and in fact could take a week or two because they are deliberately delaying the mail and the public don't even know it.

An investigation has to be brought to light, and If not then something's wrong with the whole system of having a regulator.

Fraud on a big scale.Wilful delay of mail on a big scale. People have paid for their mail to be delivered in a reasonable time scale not hidden away somewhere. If you bought a Rolex in the jewellers and got home and found they had swapped it for a fake that fraud. No different to buying a first class stamp and receiving a fifth class service.

One of the reasons Royal Mail are so brazen with their disregard for delivering letters, is because the regulator has been a soft touch.
