All very confusing to me. How can they just decide to change or cancel agreements etc? I assumed things like that were legally protected? Very odd to me that they can just decide to change or cancel them.

This was discussed in the "Simon's update" thread which was subsequently locked. Basically the industrial action gave RM the right to serve notice on elements of the agreement, so they have done it because the strikes mean that they are allowed to.

It may well be, however the attitude of management toward the workforce is the same

Not everyone will agree but they are only words at the moment.
Remain calm and carry on RM are getting more and more desperate as today's announcement shows.
I think that getting these proposals through are not quite as easy as RM make out.
Time will tell.

Where is the mention of the imposed extra 3.5% for “change” can we assume that will automatically be applied to our wage when these executive actions are imposed?
