We all need to remember what we are fighting for here and it will be much much worse than losing a days pay if Royal Mail get their way. Think about the long term.

Re: Strike Dates
I’m more worried about the sweeping changes to terms and conditions than the pay aspect.
However, for those moaning already about losing pay…
If the imposed 2% is worth around £11/week… and our strikes ultimately achieve, say, another 3% on top of that. That extra 3% would be worth £16.50 per week. In one year, that equals an additional £858.
If you’re a 2-year postie with 21 more years in the job, that’s around £18,000 in additional pay that you’d have missed out on by rolling over and letting Simon Thompson tickle your tummy.
In that context, losing 4 days pay, or even 8 is a small price to pay.
When you work for RM, it’s always wise to put some money aside for potential future industrial action. We’ve had loads of disputes in my RM career!

Re: Strike Dates
For me all of us should take the hit and be out for a week solid. It would be tough but would have far more effect than ones and two days at a time. Odd days just inconvenience the operation, a full week would make a massive statement.
