Maybe we should use the new super hub as a kind of Lidl version of the large hadron collider, but instead of speeding particles at close to the speed of light we could accelerate simon to those speeds on one of the superhubs sorting belts then beam him to the other side of our galaxy in search of new customers. I bet all advanced species in the Milky Way have done this, maybe when we start exploring the universe we will find it filled of fast moving CEO’s whose dreams of creating parcel companies that also deliver letters were crushed by their unionised workforce.roadrunner bill wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 20:30Simon.. knows nothing... there are 3 trillion stars system in your galaxy.... all.. with No monerty valve....

yes after a revision where rounds where suppose to be 4-45 outdoor span , well ours is 5-30 so what does that tell you and they are still trying to lapseTopperGas wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 20:25Plus who decides if your duty is going to take an hour less in the summer, the duty I'm on this week has taken me the duty hours to complete, and the person who did it one day cut it short as they weren't going to complete. Simon seems to live in some dream world where duties are automatically shorter in the summer and longer in the winter, yet we have plenty of posties saying the revised rounds can't be completed.worktotime wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 18:06reduce lapsing, and so in summer you have enough work everyday to finish on your time without lapsing or you still might go over your time then what ? would you still get paid o/t ? , and what would happen in Autum with his cunnting plan ? and would you still have a start and finish time ? and how would all these early summer hours be logged if posties are finishing early ? , this bloke is clueless as these revisions was suppose to sort the increase of parcels ie parcel dutys , but yet again no as the twats doing the revisions didnt have a clue . and still dont

"A whole lot of our DOs couldn't handle a simple revision. Now we're going to try something way more complex and probably unworkable. But hey? Isn't an inflation-led recession the best time to do so, with a company that relies on consumer spending?"worktotime wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 21:52yes after a revision where rounds where suppose to be 4-45 outdoor span , well ours is 5-30 so what does that tell you and they are still trying to lapseTopperGas wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 20:25Plus who decides if your duty is going to take an hour less in the summer, the duty I'm on this week has taken me the duty hours to complete, and the person who did it one day cut it short as they weren't going to complete. My gut feeling is that it's only a matter of time before we see parcel volumes plummet as the cost of living crisis really starts to bite with inflation iirc from what I saw, predicted to hit 11% by the end of the year and interest rates are bound to go up every month, wouldn't be surprised if interest rates were to be at least 5% by the end of the year

they can’t to do much more with interest rates as you would end up with thousands of people not been able to pay their mortgages.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑17 Jun 2022, 06:42My gut feeling is that it's only a matter of time before we see parcel volumes plummet as the cost of living crisis really starts to bite with inflation iirc from what I saw, predicted to hit 11% by the end of the year and interest rates are bound to go up every month, wouldn't be surprised if interest rates were to be at least 5% by the end of the year

Re: RMCtv : Simon Thompson : The changes we need
For how long are they going to use the narrative of 'we are now a parcel company and we are not set up correctly to deal with the increase in parcels. So, instead of giving you a fair pay rise we want to use that money to make the changes necessary to become a parcel business'.
It's already been 2 years or more since we first heard this. How many more times will they use it against us as a reason not to pay us fairly!
What has actually been done up to now to cater for the increase in parcels?
Customers want us to be greener....ok, maybe they should be home to receive their parcels or purchase a parcel delivery box that we can deliver to. This way we will save on paper (dockets) and save fuel from not having to go back to their home again to redeliver or having them come and collect their parcels. Also, maybe they should cancel all the junk mail they are getting that is thrown straight into the bin. They need to unsubscribe from their junk mail subscriptions. At least 40% of what I deliver is junk mail.

Or maybe just drop off at a central location for all addresses, say a post office and they can all walk down and fetch it?norris9 wrote: ↑17 Jun 2022, 15:05For how long are they going to use the narrative of 'we are now a parcel company and we are not set up correctly to deal with the increase in parcels. Had a meeting this morning about the various things RM are proposing, one was the flexi hours thing, less hours needed in summer as people arnt buying as much because of the cost of living and covid is over, however we need to work Sunday because of the growth in people getting parcels

Yet Simon moans about sickness levels after a two year pandemic when parcel workloads went through the roof, while enforcement of in-depot safety precautions were poor to non-existant even before most of us got double plus booster vaccinated. Both would be major factor in raised absenses, some through Covid infection related absenses and others who simply went past the point of daily workload exhaustion, or even both types of absense from the same individuals.pieoftheday wrote: ↑17 Jun 2022, 16:21Had a meeting this morning about the various things RM are proposing, one was the flexi hours thing, less hours needed in summer as people arnt buying as much because of the cost of living and covid is over, however we need to work Sunday because of the growth in people getting parcels![]()
Premier League football top players are not played in every single season match by the manager, yet Simon wants to run his national team of OPGs like this forever more, running at "110%" for every single shift. And at the same time, reduce sick pay term and conditions.

So what's going to happen in December, are all the customers going to just forget the effects of the recession and starting ordering parcels again?pieoftheday wrote: ↑17 Jun 2022, 16:21Had a meeting this morning about the various things RM are proposing, one was the flexi hours thing, less hours needed in summer as people arnt buying as much because of the cost of living and covid is over, however we need to work Sunday because of the growth in people getting parcels![]()
