Re: Strike Cancelled 9/9
So that’s tomorrow’s strike and absolutely nailed on the ones at the end of the month off.
The embarrassing part is that Royal Mail will push ahead with ea and not give two f**ks about the queen dying.
Now what will happen is less people will strike ( the actual people you need to win this ) and Royal Mail will use this as an excuse to stop any further action to make us look bad.

Is it the public that make the decision to pay the pay rise? Or keep the same terms and conditions?priority102 wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 21:56So, please enlighten me and all those on picket lines exactly as to why there ARE picket lines then? Standing outside the gate waving CWU placards and flags etc at people walking past you (THE PUBLIC), passing motorists (THE PUBLIC), I'm afraid you have lost me and many others on here. I'm hoping that your reason for such a naive post is that you have had one too many cans tonight. A picket is there to encourage workers not to go into work and to remind them why

The 1st October one is important to Dave Ward for the Enough Is Enough campaign and the Queen will have been buried by then

This is the same public that just leave it in the bin mate...then if it goes missing all he'll breaks loose and an opportunity for royal mail to let u go.much cheaper than a redundancy package.

Re: Strike Cancelled 9/9
I'm anti monarchy, personal politics aside, the amount of people posting here, too short sighted to see the blatant plethora of reasons why cancelling 1 day of strike action as a show of respect (for a monarch known for her work ethic) is very good for our cause, and continuing to picket would harm us and be used against us.. it's alarming, are our ranks filled with this much terrible, terrible stupidity? So don't turn up to picket lines in protest if you feel hard done by for whatever incoherent reason, with allies that dumb, we are better off without their support.
Be as dumb as you like, I can tolerate the worst, but this is the most mind numbingly daft hill to die on, and it's harming us... hustling for honks in link t-shirts when the nation will be in a period if enforced morning is totally and utterly moronic, not turning up but not picketing will be turned on us in a flash. How can that not be obvious?

Most seem to agree that the pickets could have been cancelled whilst everyone still staying at home away from workPleasedButSticky wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 22:08I'm anti monarchy, personal politics aside, the amount of people posting here, too short sighted to see the blatant plethora of reasons why cancelling 1 day of strike action as a show of respect (for a monarch known for her work ethic) is very good for our cause, and continuing to picket would harm us and be used against us.. it's alarming, are our ranks filled with this much terrible, terrible stupidity? So let me get this straight some Members of the CWU who are p#ssed off by the union’s decision to call off tomorrow strike are going to drop their trousers and bend over for Simon to ram through their destructive and assault on working conditions agenda/policies ?

Amen to that! We have been winning on social media and in our echo chamber but the general public and opposition party (and of course the Tories and their rags) are generally ambivalent!postieblueshirt wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 21:23still dont know after all these years what public opinion has to do with anything
Strikes off is a good thing because they can now get to the negotiating table and cone up with compromises that gives us a decent (not inflation busting) pay rise and protections for the vulnerable and security of jobs in the future.
* Stop moaning about the greedy bastards; it does not advance the discussions and stop the nonsense distraction and conspiracy about a sell-off

Then you'd be tarred and feathered as lazy work-shy grifters... Who didn't have the decency to turn up to work when our monarch work until the last day of her life... Surely that is obvious to people? We have a target on us, they will use every angle, not turning up to work leaves us exposedAcca Dacca wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 22:10Most seem to agree that the pickets could have been cancelled whilst everyone still staying at home away from workPleasedButSticky wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 22:08I'm anti monarchy, personal politics aside, the amount of people posting here, too short sighted to see the blatant plethora of reasons why cancelling 1 day of strike action as a show of respect (for a monarch known for her work ethic) is very good for our cause, and continuing to picket would harm us and be used against us.. it's alarming, are our ranks filled with this much terrible, terrible stupidity? Re: Strike Cancelled 9/9
It doesnt change anything one iota in the dispute whether idiots want to believe that or not - some of the public being on our side isnt going to make Simon and Co suddenly decide to back down and people thinking we are this that and the other isnt going to mean we will back down and lose the fightPleasedButSticky wrote: ↑08 Sep 2022, 22:14Then you'd be tarred and feathered as lazy work-shy grifters... All RM care about being peed off is THEIR customers ( the businesses who use RM when sending parcels to their customers ) and their shareholders

Re: Strike Cancelled 9/9
This subject raises several points. The first is: WHY does your manager have your PRIVATE phone number?
It seems that some people just give their PRIVATE number to anyone at the drop of a hat. I don't give my number to my Manager and then he can't phone me up in this type of situation.
Secondly: IF ROYAL Mail wanted to show some RESPECT to the Queen they could have given us the day off with FULL PAY to show ours, and their, RESPECT in our own way! But oh no they're quite happy to play on the ROYAL angle, but it basically means bugger all to them.
I'd be interested to know if the Businesss intends to close, as a mark of RESPECT for the Queen's Funeral. If they don't I'll be taking it off anyway... just like tomorrow! If Simple Simon wants to do something useful rustle up some Black Armbands and get them issued PDQ like the facemasks were.
