LTB 271/18 - Royal Mail Panther Easyflex & Magnum Bandera Waterproof Trainers

No. 271/2018

Wednesday 9th April 2018

Royal Mail Panther Easyflex & Magnum Bandera Waterproof Trainers

Dear Colleagues,

Further to previous LTBs issued by both the Outdoor Department and the CWU Health and Safety Department, in relation to trials of the Panther Easyflex and Magnum Bandera Waterproof Trainers (non-safety).

Following a prolonged trial of the Easyflex trainer whereby a total of 13,000 pairs were issued, it can now be confirmed that Royal Mail will be adding the Easyflex trainer to its official uniform footwear range at some point in May.

Attached to this LTB is a photo of the Panther Easyflex Waterproof trainers. (The Panther Easyflex trainer, sizes 2 to 7 are female gender specific designed footwear with sizes above being a unisex design.)

However, in respect to the Magnum Bandera trainer, whereby some 12,000 pairs were issued during the trial period, particular problems were highlighted with the toe and heel area “coming away” from the sole. As such, the supplier made recent changes to the trainer but this has not passed at recent SATRA Test (which is Royal Mail required quality and suitability test).

Whilst these SATRA Test results have been reported back to Magnum for review, Royal Mail has confirmed that no further orders have been placed for the Magnum Bandera trainer pending further improvements.

It has also been confirmed by Royal Mail that any faulty Magnum Bandera trainer which are returned will be replaced without affecting the individual employee’s overall yearly footwear allocation.

For the information on the full range of available footwear and uniform allocation visit: https://intranet.royalmailgroup.com/Ope ... rview.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Whilst the above details are self-explanatory, any enquiries regard this subject matter or uniform matters in general should be directed to the Outdoor Department reference 500, email address: outdoorsecretary@cwu.org.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Baulch

CWU Assistant Secretary
