CWU National Briefing, Monday 14th August 2017 – Four Pillars of Security Campaign

Further to LTB 423/17, the Department has received in good faith a number of representations from our IR Divisions requesting that the invitation to the National Briefing be extended to include all Area Representatives. I can therefore confirm that Area Representatives are most welcome to attend the National Briefing on Monday 14th August and Branches should make the necessary arrangements accordingly.

We are of course committed to maintain the momentum of excellent camaraderie, support and unity that the ‘Four Pillars of Security’ campaign has generated as a consequence of everyone’s hard work. Following on from the very successful Local Representatives Tour we recognise and agree that the National Briefing would be complimented by the attendance of our Area Representatives.

Clearly we do not yet know where we will be in the negotiations with the business come Monday 14th August but potentially the Postal Executive will have a huge decision to make on Tuesday 15th August and taking the temperature at the Briefing will be a key factor in that.

Due to the increased numbers we are currently in the process of sourcing a revised venue to accommodate the Briefing and details will be circulated once confirmed.
