FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS - SUE LEWIS FORMER BRANCH SECRETARY OF CENTRAL COUNTIES AND THAMES VALLEY BRANCH (CCTV)

I write further to LTB 296/16 in which I advised branches of the sudden and tragic death of our former CCTV Branch Secretary, Sue Lewis.

You will recall I advised colleagues of Sue’s service to the union as a committed Branch Secretary and Women’s officer. She became CCTV Branch Secretary in 2011 and was on the Eastern BT Committee as Financial Secretary and the Global Services Single Point of Contact from 2013-2015.

She worked closely with other branches and played an important role in the Eastern Region as Regional Women’s Committee Chair, delegate to the Political committee and a Labour Regional Board member. She was a well-respected union representative and had only recently decided to return to her BT duties after several years as branch secretary.

I can now advise branches that the funeral arrangements will take place as follows:-

DATE: Tuesday 7th June 2016
TIME: 1.15pm
PLACE: Crown Hill Crematorium
ADDRESS: Danstead Way, Crownhill, Milton Keynes, MK8 0AH
There will be a reception following the funeral which will take place at Newport Pagnell Football Club, the Pavilion, Willen Rd, Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire, MK16 0DF.

We are advised that Sue would not have wanted black to be worn but instead bright colours and ‘bling’ - and that it should be a celebration of her life - not a sad occasion.

The family has asked that there be no floral tributes but have instead kindly requested that any donations be made to the Marie Curie charity via https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/donate" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
