This agreement is 12 years old and yet still no increase in the original delivery payments whilst inflation has eroded at least 30 % of its value in that time. If we hadn't had a pay rise for 12 years there would be hell of a stink. So why is there no inflation adjusted payments?

It's fair more of a piss take that some offices deliver the items for 3p each and others get 6.6p each due to 'historic local agreements'. The payments should have been levelled out years ago, but let's be honest fairness and equality throughout offices isnt exactly high on the CWU's agenda.

The service standard for delivery of poll cards will depend upon which of our products (e.g. 1c, 2c, DSA) each returning officer chooses to use. The cards should be dealt with in line with the normal specification for each product stream.

A little irrelevant tbqf as anything that isn't d2d arrives in DOs the day it's due for delivery (the only exception being on Saturdays where some DOs have agreements to hold back mailsort on a Saturday. Given the fact that parcels will likely be really heavy next week, especially on the Tuesday and Wednesday I'd imagine any DOs that hold back mailsort on a Saturday would at least get the poll cards done and dusted on the Easter Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if eventually RM insist on all DOs taking out all mailsort on a Saturday.

Then they'll have nationwide failures. Thats what comes of planning an average 83% call rate when a 100% comes knocking.

I see very little of it. Who still segregates it on Saturday?
Doesn't every DO have a clear office policy?

We segregate them on Saturdays - we meet the criteria that are in the relevant agreements.

The mailsort being refered to is the items with a "m" for the postage. You see very little of it as most of it has gone over to DSA over the last few years

I would imagine that BT2010 would have overridden any previous agreement when Saturday became a "normal working day". Even without a full blown transformation revision the agreement supposedly removed the ability to hold back mailsort since your parent MC will no longer be sending it out to your DO until it's actually due for delivery.

Amazingly we still aren't DM or 2010 compliant yet Fishtank, we are on longs and shorts with Tuesday and Saturday being the short days (significantly shorter) so much so that we only get 30 minute breaks on Saturdays. The managers instruct us to take MS3 where we are going and segregate the rest on the frame, and they segregate (or instruct IPS to do so) the manual MS3 - which for my section is usually 1/2 a yorkie.

I have to be honest I would prefer to take all MS3 as I think we are shooting ourselves in the foot, but Managers are doing it with Authorisation from above, even the auditors have checked us on Saturday when we were being audited about once a month last year.

How do you go about updating a local agreement? We get paid 3.4 per item and it has been for years.
It is time for a national agreement or a new local agreement to at least 10p per item so that it
is at least worthwhile.

Not sure what its got to do with the subject, but No - we are not in CDVs yet so Collection on Deliveries has not started. We do have collection staff though, and some Business Duties do collection on SAturdays because of the Saturday Retentions.

Well we won't be delivering any as they are being delivered independently, arrived home today to find mine, same thing happened at the last local election

Was told by D.O. Manager AND union rep that we will be receiving poll cards tomorrow. 6p per item. Both stated as the poll cards are DSA they must be delivered in 1 day. Anyone stating that they are refusing to do ANY of them will be shipped out to deliver at another office. Anyone stating that they are cutting off will NOT be paid. Anyone stating that they will deliver over 2 days will NOT be paid. Is this correct nationwide?
