In the canteen, discussions are welcome as long as they follow the rules of RoyalMailChat. This means no bullying, no name-calling, and a commitment to respectful dialogue. Remember the rule of thumb: focus on addressing the content of the arguments made by those you disagree with, rather than attacking the individuals themselves.

Ok, great.

I’d like to kick it off with what will hopefully be the last Xmas of the Russia-Ukraine war and god help the taxpayers of Europe who will be footing the bill for decades to come.

I pray that there will be peace in Ukraine and all other parts of the world where there is conflict, war, death and destruction. But sadly I feel that there will be continuing division, conflict and wars.

Unfortunately wars, conflicts and tension make big profits for the weapons manufacturers.

Plus certain countries like to project their military power onto others.

Yes. Even if Russia does end it's war on Ukraine I expect it will continue to try to seize territory elsewhere.
As to the cost to Europe's taxpayers, it is a cost that had to be paid for all our sakes.

Edit: It's not just Putin and Russia I think are a threat. It's also Trump and 'MAGA' USA.

Yes I do mainly, but not entirely.
As I live in UK most news is from msm. I don't believe it all and try to read between the lines.

That’s the typical retort of people who are either ignorant or dishonest.

It’s funny how these people who I listed are always right be it Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Israel-Palestine and now Ukraine.
