I have repeatedly stated that climate change has occurred throughout time. The only part of climate change we humans have had a massive impact upon, is the period since the Industrial Revolution. That’s a fact and can’t be ignored.milly wrote: ↑04 Jul 2024, 16:55It shows that the Climate always has and always will change regardless of humans.Barnacle wrote: ↑04 Jul 2024, 16:47What have Vikings on Greenland got to do with global warming now in 2024? I was simply pointing out that their findings may have been driven by monetary considerations, in order to preserve their funding.
You choose to discount one set of scientific findings yet choose to blindly accept others because they fit your agenda.
Isn't it plausible that they took some barley over and found they couldn't grow it in sufficient quantities and threw it away?
That's why it was in the rubbish heap.
There certainly isn't any evidence of them growing barley because the evidence apparently couldn't survive due to the thin nature of Greenland's soil and the passage of time.
Unless of course a Flour company paid for the research into the vikings growing barley on Greenland then there would be a conflict of interest.
There are over 7 billion more people on the planet now than there were then and we hadn’t begun to burn fossil fuels on an industrial scale until the 1800s and we hadn’t begun dumping plastics in the world’s oceans until the 1950s onwards.
We’ve been very busy trashing everything for a couple of hundred years and finally we’re realising that there is a limit.
Only Malthusians/Eugenicists like yourself blame humans for climate change.

Deforestation including the continued felling of the Amazon Rainforest: this is a human activity on a massive scale the world over. Deforestation causes droughts beyond the area of tree felling and the reduction of mature trees reduces the amount of carbon capture, this means it remains in the atmosphere, increasing greenhouse gases which in turn, increase global temperatures.
The UK mainland was once covered in trees and temperate rainforest was its status. Now only pockets remain and we have extremes of temperature and regular droughts in the south.

A good example of a non sequiter argument.
Don't be tempted to give up postie-ing in favour of a career in forensic analysis.

It’s related to the previous paragraph.

Out of interest was the medieval warm period a globally synchronous event? Or largely regional?milly wrote: ↑02 Jul 2024, 21:39Still waiting for you to explain the medieval warm period enabling the vikings to sustain themselves growing crops on Greenland or why the Sahara was a savvanah a few thousand years ago.LouBarlow wrote: ↑02 Jul 2024, 21:3097% of the world’s scientists are open to bribes apparently. milly is not a conspiracy theorist though.
Scientists on the payroll of companies will say anything for funding, hence this headline from two days ago.
‘Ultra-processed’ jam and cereals no worse than more natural foods, US breakfast study concludes
Also, was the temperature increase during the medieval warm period similar to todays warming?
Are there any theories as to what might have caused the medieval warm period? Maybe solar variability or volcanic activity?
Was the rate of temperature increase back then comparable to the past century?
If you're interested in the topic I suggest you do your own research.
The Climate never stops changing with or without humans.

The UniParty won again.
I hope you are looking forward to your Labour Party getting us embroiled in a futile War in Ukraine.

Wait now for all the green taxes. Nigel has his foot in Parliament, he will call out Labour on everything they do. He’s coming for you.
