signature signing on pda's

Post by guardianangel »

Are we now back to getting people to sign our PDA's as our boss keeps telling us to just post them in,but i've heard most offices are obtaining signitures.

DWS (delivered without signature) or MAR (marked as received). It's your personal choice whether you even offer recipients the option of signing.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Many businesses who send products as a signed for do so to get a proof of delivery for payment purposes. If a customer purchase using credit eg KLARNA is not signed the company potentially will not get paid.

I take medicine which unfortunately lowers my immunity, which makes me in high risk, shame I wasn't on this during the covid outbreak, would have had some nice time off, but I'll never let anyone touch my PDA; the amount of houses I go to now, and they say oh just leave it there, I have covid, It's not worth the risk..

Watch your back they have been sacking people with covid around the country, all covid measure's dropped so they won't accept that as an excuse,if your not a bosses favourite you'll be gone ,easy way of getting rid of people and the union are helpless.

Re- introduced in our office starting from yesterday (Thursday).

Some customers are hesitant and some don't seem to mind.

Totally pointless as 99% of signatures are crap, dont think you get many complaints if they dont sign. Loads put the DWS on the pda, just wouldnt trust managers one bit, be careful everyone✍️

As previously stated everyone now should now be obtaining signatures again, a lot of Posties think they're saving time ... but for who? You run around using DWS and posting everything you're just making more time to do more work! :hmmmm

The Rules have changed. I now fill in more 739s (Red Card) than I ever have before. I take the view: It takes longer so it's filling up my contracted hours and it means I take more of the added mail back to the office. It also creates more work for the CSP, keeping them in a job and proving that customers are still using them. Despite RMs BS that "Footfall" has dropped! :speak to the hand

I've never had any comeback over signed fors but you never know, don't take the risk. It does amuse me nowadays when you got a mix of Tracked some need a photo and you can post them, then another identical packet needs a Signature so I 739 it ! Must confuse the hell out of our customers? :cuppa

Since Covid ive never passed my PDA to any customer. But thats now more to do with the fear people might come to the door having been mid poo 😂 Its something i used to think about pre covid but it creeps me out so much now and ive just never gone back to getting a signature.

Just the idea someones wiped their bum or been fiddling with their bits and then the next thing they touch is my PDA . . . NO THANKS!

You could still give your PDA a wipe over with an antiseptic wipe every now and then if it worries you. :hmmmm

Always amazed me that during Covid we had to instruct people to wash their hands after they'd been to the toilet  My Mum taught me that when I was a kid, are there dirty bastards out there that don't bother! I already had a bottle of Hand Cleanser in my van before Covid for that purpose, and then Posties started moaning about it not being provided.... Amazing! :cuppa
