Isolating with covid

Post by snakel29 »

Hey all

I Have had covid for 7 days, tested positive still this morning.

Where do I stand if I tell my manager I will take a few more days off? I have an isolation note from The NHS that says to isolate till 2nd of March but now we legally don't have to I don't know.

Morally I Know I should stay off as not to infect the office but we all know managers don't really give A damn.

Also will an NHS isolation note be enough or will I need a sick note from the GP?

Thanks
Lee

Ruling suggest ,nobody gives a xxxx now.
If you feel unwell then get sick note from GP.If you feel ok then go back to work.

You are ok, nothing 'should' happen to you as you started before March and the isolation note 'should' be enough...

In addition, any Covid-related absences which start on or after 1 March 2022, may count towards Royal Mail’s attendance procedure. This is in line with the normal approach taken for all other sickness absences.

Also...
Hello,

Individuals should follow the updated guidance that’s been published today on the Gov website:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... r-contacts

Self-isolation is recommended for at least 5 days where an individual has tested positive. Testing is still recommended before ending self-isolation. None of this is now enforceable though, so we’re simply expecting individuals to make sensible decisions and follow the guidance to keep their colleagues safe.

Kind Regards.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I have this exact problem. I feel ill still 7 days after testing positive for Covid, have tested positive this morning (lateral flow), but my GP says they do not issue fit notes for Covid. I have rung a manager who said "don't come to work Ill, we'll sort out all the bureaucracy when you feel well enough to come back".

I hope an isolation note will suffice cos it's all I've got. Very worrying.
