It is by far the most common route for dismissal in the company.

The reason for that is simple.

It's the least likely way for managers to screw up.

The path of least resistance.

Nope they do it all the time in my office ,if your face doesn't fit and you trigger the stages your gone.
ok. I assume striking counts towards an attendance review? Maybe I will have to work during the strike then if they love firing people for hitting all the stages.

Industrial action does not count towards an attendance review.

I was issued a stage warning as I was off work with covid and it triggered a stage 1, I took the advice of my doctor not to go to work until I had a negative test and also the advice of Zoreena Brown not to go to work and pass it on to my colleagues. Royal mail are not a careing company to work for as they would much rather covid positive employees attend work putting others at risk

Do you or anyone else know why in the past they weren't counting Covid towards any attendance reviews, but now they are.

What's the difference between getting Covid now and getting it in the past. A likely reason someone gets Covid is because people are coming into work with it. So it's the workplace potentially causing your sickness as they have been encouraging people to work whilst positive.

It’s all about Money and employment control.
The employer pays the wages and sick pay and is their way of saying be mindful of what you do and places you go outside work because the third attendance stage you are out of a job.

But there is a good probability you may get Covid from the workplace too.
