Weds - Sun
Been asked to think about volunteering to work Sundays as a parcel man only, in return id get made up to full time and get 2 day off the week most likely mon/tue, with sat/sun just doing parcels, Any other offices heard about this as it seems a bit to good to be true.

Too good to be true working all weekend every weekend, not sure many people would agree with that but if it suits you then go for it, everyone’s circumstances are different I suppose.

Re: Weds - Sun
I say too good to be true because now it 5 days a week walking round in -8/+35oc temps in snow/rain/wind/blazing sun, but could knock that down to 3 days and have 2 days in a nice warm/ cooled van.

Yeh I understand where your coming from as parcel only delivery is much easier than doing a full walk of mail and parcels, it’s just a commitment I personally couldn’t commit to doing both days every weekend but if it suits your lifestyle then why not, don’t think you’ll have a fight on your hands for signing for that duty.

Re: Weds - Sun
I’m assuming some negotiation like this will still be put in the resign for others to turn down first, if not and you can make alternative unattractive deals with management outside of repicks i might offer to work a few lates a week on parcels as hardly anyone wants to finish late in our place, even through covid no one has wanted to start and finish later.

Re: Weds - Sun
Some of our younger part timers have been asked if they would like to train to drive the larger Royal Mail vans which could open job opportunities?

Any idea which ‘larger’ vans they mean?
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Sunday work is coming but it’s on a vol basis to start with, then the revision will take place and the Sunday will be part of duties I believe it will be for part times to pick,
