MRM.COM : Achim Dunnwald has the latest on talks with CWU

Post by POSTMAN »

Royal Mail and CWU have met face to face this week as discussions increase in intensity.

Chief operating officer, Achim Dünnwald, has posted a video update, fresh from talks held at 100 Victoria Embankment.

Good progress in fleshing out a program of local revisions has been made, while CWU are supportive of defining trial activity for potential future changes that could drive quality and efficiency.

Discussions have also started on pay.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Terry said no strings pay deal the other day..

No chance listening to the above video it will be a sell your souls to the devil and we will give you a fiver a week :evil/mad

Many professions have had a payrise some who didn't even work through the pandemic we fell in to the 2nd class citizen category (key worker) working practically the same as we always had with the fear/anxiety that caused many including some with underlying health issues that didn't meet the shielding criteria.

You would think they would have sorted a token payrise to show their gratitude ASAP and dealt with all the other nonsense after.

So the Cwu have agreed to revisions and then trials which will no doubt make our jobs more exhausting than they already are in the name of “efficiency”
And all this before a pay deal has even been discussed, I’m not optimistic on the outcome of all this.
That clown terry was giving it the big un on Facebook just 2 days ago but by the sounds of this he has been found out when he actually has to sit down and negotiate instead of ranting and playing the hard man.

As he says - anyone can be John Wayne down a camera.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

This I suppose is the downside of the union's recent enthrallment with social media. Guys like Terry are used to turning up at meetings with like minded individuals mostly reps and branch officials themselves who lap up all that tub thumping and table bashing bollocks but acting like that on Facebook looks very silly and leaves a permanent trace.

I think he must have thought when he walked into that negotiating room all these Royal Mail managers would quiver before him but he forgets that to get to the top table at any large business you have to already have a certain level of sociopathy.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that the union is desperate for an out of any kind that gives them something to trumpet as a win, I would imagine Royal Mail's negotiators could smell that fear the minute Terry walked into the room. The only way you could tip that balance back in our favour would be to be honest with our members and deflate any expectations quickly. Instead Terry plays the big man and makes the situation worse because with these guys in charge at CWU HQ it's all about the show and the show must go on.

Royal Mail don't have a plan, they have absolutely no clue what to do in deliveries.

We as employees must have more detail, this is all too vague. A revision in my office would not achieve anything
as we were cut to the bone on the last one. The workload has increased and changed and it is now taking longer
to deliver.

He talks about change but what about respecting the 2018 agreement?

They hire full time on 35 hours contracts, why is that?

They didn`t respect the 4 pillars but call a 35 hours contract full time?

I don`t get it :arrrghhh

Undermining they used it in the first world war if you undermine the pillars they will fall in fact undermining has and will be a strategy of keeping the working man/woman down. Sticking together unity and unionism is how we defeat this objective our strength is our unity!

Sadly that world has now mostly gone . In either 1926 or even 1986 things like zero hour contracts , Uber economy , union de-recognition etc there would of been huge or even national strikes.

We are now entering the 4th Industrial Revolution /Post Covid world. Expect a final onslaught on Trade Unions and the Working/Middle classes.

Then you have the real far out stuff like UN Agenda 21/30 and the so called Great Reset.
