According to Dave Ward last week "The new acting CEO may well be confirmed as that"
More importantly early next week a facebook CWU live session is scheduled to take place.

How do you manage to draw that conclusion when ofcom has to review the situation first , that’s even if Royal Mail even want to go down that route .

They were quick to pass through a 5 day USO for The isle of man and Channel islands...

"Chickenwittle" I echo your response. Discussions have been mainly about the strategy.

Ofcom have said RM cannot ask for any alterations to the USO until it has got all of its costs under control, which it hasn't because it is not utilising PDA's fully.

You've still got people working overtime in a morning and then finishing early before time and going home.

So until then I seriously doubt RM will have any hope of a 5 day USO.

In my experience we also have Postie's finishing beyond their time and not always getting paid overtime so the situation is not one way. I personally feel RM get more than their moneys worth out of us.

Job losses from switching to a five day operation for letters & packets would be less than moving to an every other day delivery system which has already been deployed in many other countries.
The workload is currently often like Xmas nearly every day but once people have mostly returned to work or have become unemployed when the furlough payments are changed at the end of July it will get quieter. Then RM will start churning out the bad news propaganda again.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

IOMPO USO and Jersey Post USO both come under their respective legislative assemblies surely and nothing to do with UK OFCOM/Govt or RM.
