I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

this looks ominous if the outcome to prevent any industrial action gets a yes from the high court judge,we basically go back to square one, after all the election and black Friday, Christmas etc. then we start again after the year when strike action might not be so influential in helping with our main objective to save our business the way it should be , a work to rule, from the union during Christmas, this could cause some disruption, but at this time of the year unfortunately, our colleagues are mostly all looking for a little extra for christmas

SOMETIME, MAYBE...2 WEEKS B4 BLACK FRIDAY (29/11) & CYBER MONDAY (02/12) BECKONS EVER CLOSER...

The Election is a completely different issue...CWU should be factoring in democracy but factoring out shareholders' profits UNLESS restoring the abrogated agreement and returning CWU to the planning table. It is all about people ALONGSIDE profit, NOT profit at the expense of staff/terms and conditions of the workforce...

Let's hope the judge is a moralist not a capitalist and decides with the moral majority...rather than the piqued profiteers.

If the union have messed up again , there will be a lot of unhappy members , they will have learnt nothing from the injunction Royal Mail took out in the last dispute.

Why have the CWU on the ground not announced this? They have the circus out there and are supposed to be providing updates, yet we get this from a bbc tweet.

Problem is the union can’t mass communicate that (“let’s all work to rule”) as it can be construed as organising a de facto strike.

RM are saying they are trying to uphold democracy as they feel the ballot was unfairly influenced. I'm 100% certain they would have taken no legal action if the ballot result came back in their favour (unfairly influenced or not)
We all know there is only one reason why it's gone to court. It's just a delaying tactic to get RM through the GE and Xmas period with a full staff. RM will be fine if we are out on strike in January.

Surely Royal Mails case is as weak as anything? When You read it it sounds ridiculous!

It is weak and it is basically something made up to get the case to court. As I said on another thread it’s a government led stitch up and the judge has already had his directive!!

Wouldn't it be better all round to strike in January if needs be? The business ( that pays our wages don't forget) doesn't lose valuable customers and money in our busiest period, posties Don't lose money in the run up to Christmas and it's not as if the place wouldn't grind to a halt in January if we had to strike, I mean, it's not as if we're twiddling our thumbs and we all go home an early every day. IT'S STILL BUSY IN JANUARY! ( Sorry if that's a bit txt shouty) .

it DOES seem odd like, can't see why he couldn't have given his decision today. B.A. and Ryan Air got their decisions the same day. could go in our favour though. if it WAS a straightforward open and shut case for RM then it would have been today. judge must be going back to his hierarchy to tell them he can't give the decision in their favour :pray

Do we all agree not to clear a strike day backlog the next day on overtime or it's seems pointless. Backs CFO will just report back to him how much money the company SAVES by delivering 2 day's work in one. Now that would give him ideas!
