IWT SYSTEM UPDATE FROM V7.5 TO V8.0
*** PLEASE NOTE THIS UPDATE IS TO IWT ONLY - MODEL WEEK ALREADY HAS THE UPDATED PLANNING VALUES AND ALL REVISIONS WERE PLANNED ON THIS BASIS - THIS MESSAGE IS BEING SHARED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY ***
Royal Mail will be updating the IWT System including the Planning Values that define the “Should Take Times “ that underpin the Workload Calculations, this is to better reflect current processes and ways of working in Delivery Offices.
From week 1 we will move to v8 of IWT, the introduction will:
- Improve the systems stability and make it easier to update so that Royal Mail can respond to new ways of working quicker in the future and report what we do more accurately.
Better reflect the Indoor Hours currently being used, allowing the RTD process to more accurately align IPS, Prep & outdoor hours.
Correct an historic calculation error that has resulted in offices receiving too much workload for moving and handling parcels.
Improve the availability of Historic Traffic Data on which to base decisions at the Weekly Resourcing Meeting.
In the coming weeks there will be further Royal Mail & CWU Comm’s, including a Joint Statement and detailed guidance for Managers & CWU Representatives on the potential effects on EP, Workload and how this should be reflected in the Weekly Resourcing Meeting.
As this update will affect the core workload calculations in IWT, offices are advised to only produce detailed plans up to week 52, as from week 1 offices will see changes in workload between the IPS, Prep and where used the Outdoor hrs in DPP.
Further details will be shared in the coming weeks.
