It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Can't believe I wasted 7 minutes watching that, it was only 3 minutes until he mentioned what was being done - but actually it isn't being done until next week. and then it won't actually be anything that will actually be done. He did manage to mention "jewel in the crown" twice as if we are supposed to be impressed by it. No mention of Super SI with his "trust on the doorstep" but the company have well and truly pissed that up the wall with all their lies.
I am still waiting for Terry's next action after he promised to do something when the company announced the end of fixed term and casual staff and the returning of hire vans before Christmas. He was opposed to that "executive action" (as he called it) but nothing more was seen or heard on the matter. That carpet at CWU HQ must be getting near the ceiling by now with everything that has been swept under it.

Good old Terry, quick joint statement accompanied by a self aggrandising video and then back into 3 months of hiding. When does this guy retire?

Royal Mail and CWU Agree Joint Statement on Quality Action Plan
Royal Mail and CWU have today signed a joint statement outlining the actions we need to take to restore public confidence in our quality of service. You can read the agreement in full here...
https://www.myroyalmail.com/sites/defau ... 022022.pdf
Or down below.
To help us to achieve our targets of delivering at least 93% of USO first-class post within one working day of collection, and 98.5% of USO second-class post within three working days, we have jointly agreed an action plan.
It includes:
Deploying our field structures both managerially and CWU at Divisional, Area and local levels to analyse any failing units and give support at local level to restore confidence in working arrangements, achieve our joint obligations and quality of service on all products
Establishing a Joint National Quality of Service Steering Group to monitor progress and unlock any issues of a national nature that are raised as barriers to achieving our QofS objectives
A requirement for all managers and CWU Representatives at all levels to work together to identify the current state and deploy solutions to restore QofS
Full utilisation of the Local Joint Working Groups (LJWG) based on each Mail Centre catchment area to ensure that cross functional working is maintained
A commitment from both parties to the achievement of the Pathway to Change year 1 WIPWH target, utilising the delivery office resourcing calculator in line with the national joint statement
This agreement underscores a shared and significant commitment to improving quality and winning customer trust. By working together we are confident we can deliver the great service our customers expect from us.
Thanks

Interim Chief Operating Officer

All managers and CWU Representatives at all levels must now work together with
immediate effect to identify the current state and deploy solutions to restore QofS.
To be clear this national action plan has total top level commitment and support at the
highest level of both CWU and Royal Mail.

So out of touch with the work force it’s embarrassing.
Replacing full time staff with part timers & expecting the same output delusional.
Highest turnover of staff in its history.
RM is now a company with one goal, to earn money for its shareholders.
Terry, please resign, or at least put a coherent sentence together!

How can you work with local managers i.e Dom's when a lot of them are going?
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

clueless and they have just realised that what they did with the company was dog s**t and we are still failing 'deliverys daily and posties coming back after days off to 2 days worth of mail minus the tracked as they are priority , but yet managers more interested in some posties maybe having a few minutes more for there break or maybe going to shop or toilet using pda data and taken in the office for it , it boils my piss to even listen to this s**t .

It’s been a long time coming but I finally miss Rico, can we have him back? At least it felt like we were led and supported by the Union and we were all on common ground.
Now it seems as soon as Statistical Simon stops calling us team and getting giddy over data we have Terry in the wings ready to fill the space with another confusing ‘I’ve not had a few, honest’ video.
It’s becoming draining, team.

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

How will this help ? In most offices the changes made to achieve this have been the major cause of the problemsA commitment from both parties to the achievement of the Pathway to Change year 1 WIPWH target, utilising the delivery office resourcing calculator in line with the national joint statement

The CWU are really really late to the party on this. We've all been complaining for months about the poor standards, and mail regularily being failed.
The only reason for the change in attitude from the business, is that OFCOM are threatening fines again.
So it really does beg the question, why have the CWU suddenly sprung into action now? After burying their head in the sand and ignoring the issue for months?

Edit from the joint statement;
"In order to continue to provide excellent quality of service consistent with USO and commercial products commitments and responsibilities, offices must maintain robust resourcing plans and it is essential that staffing must not be allowed to wander back
using temporary and agency resources rather than permanent recruitment to vacancies."
Agency resource are contiually used at my RDC. A relevant example this & last week ; Agency workers get a message early morning same day to attend 10.00am to 13.45 shift. I thought the idea was staffing to planned workload in advance!
