CWU : The High Court has ruled against us. Genuinely this is an utter outrage. 110,000 workers vs the establishment.

I'll make it simple.
Workplace ballots are unlawful.
Encouraging members to open their ballot papers in the workplace makes it a workplace ballot.

I think it's safe to say that anyone who can work a smartphone could have gathered plenty of evidence of members voting in the workplace. Plenty of it on the CWU Facebook page and Twitter feed.

maybe, doesn't get away from the fact that not one person out of 110,000 members came forward to say they were coerced or were forced under pressure to vote yes from cwu reps or other members. judge saying the election was a factor reeks of a complete stitch-up.

Yes Royal Mail have been pretty low to go down this route and judges do what they do but the union served us up on a plate unfortunately.

my question is what happens now i for one dont blame the union at all for this ..... will rm after they get there pound of flesh after xmas and election just plough on with there plan regardless of anyone or anything, how much trouble as a workforce are we in we just cant sit back and let rm destroy everything but we have lost the opportunity to get something from this dispute by that high court ruling against us ,maybe a re ballot after xmas is fine with me , we have been properly screwed over....this was not just an attack on us and the cwu it was an attack on all unions .... ive been reading on a few posts about work to rule that will never work ever a lot of people are just stuck in there ways and you cant and never will change them a lot will just bury there head in the sand and think whatever rm are going to do it wont effect me well thats until they get there p45 in the post ... i know we need to fight but how i just cant see bulling will be going through the roof now you will do this you will do that you cant fight the establishment alone we need to stick together we are the union we have lost a battle but this war is not over yet we cant give up we need to fight back i would rather go down fighting than just sit back and take whats coming

So what's to stop oh I don't know one of these `part time managers` we all know them ex Posties masquerading as managers when it suits, from in future ballots intercepting their ballot papers as after all they are still CWU members in a lot of cases and filming themselves `voting`? Absolutely nothing. What a crock of s**t this Judges Verdict is!

The whole viability of a the Union is now at stake.
We/CWU will back in court again when the Company claims “ Substantial damages ‘ from us.
Could run into the millions.

We now enter uncharted waters....

I totally understand the point that It could be seen as some kind of vote tampering, if the evidence which I have not actually seen btw is true. However The Judge is there to make a unbiased Judgement, Part of that should be the consideration if the outcome of the "infringement" affected the ballot result. No sane person could really conclude that the actions of a few could invalidate the result where over 97% of 100000 people voted to strike. So the Judge is clearly not unbiased. This is disgusting and I feel sick at this total disregard for a democratic process. With Judges like this why bother with democracy at all, clearly technicalities that have no bearing on the result matter more than what real people want. He also cited the Election which should have no bearing on the case and by citing it he has
clearly judged this case on something that he has absolutely no right to do.
This Judgement has now added a new union breaking law that means any well organised anti union faction could easily nullify any Union ballot by posting certain things on fb, or any social media outlet. We should now call on support from other Unions to help fight this.
