So you’ve got Dave who with management approval still comes in 2 hours early and finishes 2 hours early so he can pickup his kid from school, even though the kid is now 16. He needs to finish at 1 on a Saturday too.
Higher up won't care that Dave comes in 2 hours early, they'll just be focused on seeing Dave finish 2 hours early
Then there’s Keith who hasn’t told planners or management that the bottom row and a half of 50 or so businesses on his frame doesn’t exist anymore, there’s only 2 still there meaning he’s saving a good hour a day. He simply puts his missorts, kill offs and a few other random calls there so it looks full.
Talks resume Monday , a 2 year pay deal is now on the table , negotiators spent the last 4 days in the talks.
Today the officers are talking through the issues in the talks to the Postal Executive and Field officials. Remember there can not be an agreement unless the Postal Executive agree it first.

Not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes anyway. Has anyone heard anything about removing 3 day a week day off cover duties? Im currently on this type of duty and its sounding like they want to move everyone to 5 days a week? The info coming from managers in our office is intentionally vague ie they say "were not sure about that bit" but they know something is "coming in January". Surely if they know its coming in January, they know what it is? Just wondered if anyone else is in this position.

I guess your on a job share ie Mon to Wednesday and someone else does Thursday to sat. I cannot say but mainly it would not effect you unless in door work changes it depends on your contract as well 25 hours is 5 hour span. If it is less than that you need to consult your rep ASAP!
Im on less than 25 hours as it used to involve long and short days but over the years the jobs I've covered have changed slightly. Its not a Monday to Wednesday. Its a day off cover where we don't work Thursday or Friday but cover 3 full time duties days off. I clearly need to have a word with the union. I was just putting out feelers to see if something is afoot on a national level. If its true I would say they're working on getting full timers to do more indoor work under the guise of "mail levels dropping" and moving part timers to delivery only. That way they will have a large pool of delivery staff on call every day. Thanks for the response. Ill update when I've spoken to the rep.

Not herd anything but suspect they are trying it on with you we don't have these in our place 5 day with a day off Tuesday normally but the Friday the 24 and then the 28th is in all probability for most in our office!
