does anyone remember a few years back, i think it was when Leighton & Crozier were here. when they got an ex marine on a dispatches programme on telly to do a duty at a certain speed, RM claimed was 'doable' and not unreasonable to expect its staff to do it. it was about a sustained 4mph walking speed. anyways,...the marine failed.

Yes. In fairness, he delivered every address, but to compensate, he had only leaflets, no addresses to read or parcels to deliver. He was a marine fitness instructor, as I recall and he said there was no way he'd get close to managing 5 days a week in the time allowed,

It is not the walking speed that needs testing its the speed at which the customers get down out of bed at midday to answer the f¥£€ing door. That is what takes the time out of a delivery.
