The really disappointing bit is that he was told that he should provide an update, not that he personally considered that his members deserve to be kept informed.
The rest is just the usual bluster and effectively confirmation that there are still significant disagreements so we are nowhere near any deal. So much for it just being a case of getting the wording of an agreement absolutely right.

Re: Update 14 Dec 20
Thanks TP for the non-updating update!!!
I must say it gave very very informative update into the talks!!! NOT!!!!
So much for "we are going to get the money to members in time for xmas".
What is so secret on the talks that you can't provide any detail whatsoever!!! Are we working for MI5 or MI6 or the secret service. Honestly my god so disappointing this saga has been going on way too long.
Don't forget this was promised to be settled with an interim agreement 31st July. This was promised!!!

It is becoming quite obvious to me now, that despite working our socks off for the last nine months, through wind, rain & shine PLUS a global pandemic & more packets than I’ve ever seen,RM genuinely think we deserve the square root of sod all with regards to a pay rise & are hell bent on cutting numbers & making our job harder/longer. Unlike others on here I do not see Terry & co as the enemy, the complete opposite in fact - but to keep fobbing us off in this manner is becoming very irritating. I dare say the hierarchy of both organisations will be finishing for Xmas by the middle of next week, and no doubt a two week shutdown. Leaving us in limbo going into the NY.
I am backing the union,as I always do,but I have a sinking feeling that RM are going to try & pull the rug from under us at the beginning of 2021 - in a ‘like it or lump it’ sort of way. Of course,I’m hoping I’m wrong & will be the first to hold my hand up if this is the case...

“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

Do you ever get the feeling of Deja Vu?? I couldn't watch this vid all the way through to the end. Its like watching a video where someone is trying to explain something but in the end explains absolutely nothing. Its weird that Terry talks about getting rid of Rico as some sort of a pyrrhic victory. As CEO of Royal Mail Group Plc, Rico had the same pressure from shareholders as this new Interim CEO now has. The only difference is that our shares have gone up even though Royal Mail reduced their dividend payments. We are the key workers of the pandemic who had to deal with stratospheric parcel volumes ever since the first lockdown back in March according to CWU Voice. And our issues were never about an increase in pay nor about a 35 hour working week but about our working conditions and what changes will be made by Royal Mail in detail and how it will affect our working lives.
I don't wish to be pessimistic but unlike previous negotiations we have been deliberately kept in the dark over any real details. And that unfortunately is where the devil will be. The PDA actuals, the clocking in-out, the end of ghost overtime, our work efficiency, balancing out the walks every year so that there is fairness, adaptability, later start and finish times. I think we all know this is the road that we will all be travelling down regardless.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I think perhaps 3% over 3 years, backdated to April, and £500 pro rata to shut up and vote yes on the 'new deal of the century' which will deliver most of what RM want with some 'safeguards' that turn out on inspection to be of the chocolate fireguard variety.
