Long term I reckon 9-5 for DO staff is more likely then all LAT stuff would be done with normal deliveries

That wasn't mentioned.

But it was mentioned to them about collapsing 1 in 6 rounds.

It's already feasible as the PDA's are able to lay out a delivery order for parcels.

I guess a lot of you may have noticed a second icon on the PDA screen and will know that you can scan parcels on to this and it will show you the best route to deliver.

We already have the order of the frames and our own extensive knowledge from being posties for years so the last thing we need is a delivery order on the PDA. If anyone high up in RM is reading this please can you fix the current PDA fault that stops signatures being sent and requires the PDA to be turned off & fully restarted to clear it. It occurs when it isn't raining so has nothing to do with the other fault when rain or water gets into the battery compartment.

So to sum this idea up,

They are planning to remove ' large' parcels from delivery, but this will only be the parcels defined as large before they reach the delivery office.

Any parcel over 'shoe box' size that makes it to the D.O will still have to be delivered.
Any doubles, where a customer has several small packets making a 'large' packet will still have to be delivered.
All specials whatever the size will still have to be delivered.
Large tracked??….

Each delivery person will 'gain' around 120 calls on the 'lapsed' walk.
The delivery plus attendance calls on this 'extra' work will surely cancel out any time saved on not doing the large parcels that don't fit into any of the categories above.
The numbers of Actual 'large' parcels on each walk are not that great.
Lots more cut offs/overtime, if this comes in.

The CWU don't seem to have made any announcements on these changes unless it was covered on the recent vague LTB about the second half of the delivery method trials. Has any DOM discussing these changes with posties mentioned if it is just a proposal or if it has been given the unions blessing to go ahead & implement it???

Won't make any difference in MCs, as a rule, whatever comes into the MC in a sleeve goes out in a sleeve unless it's massive

Based on the amount of large Tracked and large normal that we send out, that sounds about right for what walks might have

That's certainly not the story in my office where we still deliver Amazon stuff. Most shared van duties in my office are taking a full York of large parcels out every day, the larger duties having 25 plus on a regular basis.

I get plenty of large packets! Probably not enough to swap for 120 extra calls though.
But I currently do 58 calls on my absorption so if it was just another 60 I reckon I would be quite happy.
Not so happy about possible jobs going though.
But....just maybe....EVR
