Re: Holiday pay
I think a lot of people will be disappointed with the CWU's great deal on this!

Re: Holiday pay
I'm not disappointed, money for nothing. I'd have never bothered claiming it so the fact I got something is a bonus

Re: Holiday pay
I regularly do 20 hours or more a week but due to being on rehab for 2 separate one month periods in the qualifying periods I miss out on some of it hopefully not all

Re: Holiday pay
Back pay for historic regular overtime will be backdated for a period of two years from April 2021. This covers four separate 6 monthly qualifying periods which broadly encompass the following months:
a. April 2019 to September 2019;
b. October 2019 to March 2020;
c. April 2020 to September 2020;
d. October 2020 to March 2021
So 8 hours overtime, for all 6 months in any of those qualifying periods, would bank you at least some back pay.
Part of the problem with this agreement. Loads of us get temporary variations of contracts for Xmas, and don't work OT for the whole of December.
And then the other 12 months is during the summer months, when people tend to take most of their annual leave. So the likelihood of meeting the 8 hours OT criteria is much reduced.
It's a deeply flawed agreement. The arbitrary definition of what is "regular overtime" and the use of a qualifying period of 6 months, is heavily balanced in the employer's favour, and will disqualify a lot of people a lot of the time.

Re: Holiday pay
i had to hev my knee replacement ''replaced'' again after having it in for 10 years, so i was on the sick for 3 moths to recover then 6 weeks rehab at graft. the qualifying criteria states a ''minimum'' of 8 hours a month overtime so my sick absence sent my holiday payment down the swannee. even though i made nearly 31 grand with overtime last year, which averages out at over 8 hours a month i still got f*** all. it would seem its not average pay whilst on annual after all.....not happy.
