Time for collective legal representation ?
So if CWU will not support us going to ET is it time for us 6000 to get a single law firm on board to fight RM?

Best of luck getting and continuing to get enough money to finance that, given the cost of decent legal representation good enough to take on RM.

Re: Time for collective legal representation ?
RM are dreadful at a lot of things but one thing they excel at is hiring very competent lawyers. I wish you well if you do take RM on but my feeling is there will be a lot of apathy from those 6000 claimants so the actual number willing to pay good money to employ lawyers/solicitors will be far less.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

That 6000 is more likely to be 60 by the time you've found a lawyer daft enough to take the case on.
99% will take the RM/CWU deal because crap as it is, it's a lot less hassle than trying to write a cut price John Grisham novel on a wet Wednesday in Bristol.

I am pursuing my claim; I received no help from the union in my two previous claims which were both successful.

5/6000. Me & a fellow collegue are not backing down & getting our belly’s tickled like the union has done. We’re both leaving the union that sold us down the river again too.

Re: Time for collective legal representation ?
Perhaps the union can provide what would have been their skeleton argument for the tribunal so the remaining Claimants can crib from that? Or perhaps their barrister’s opinion.
Employment Tribunals don’t expect unrepresented parties to give full and complicated legal arguments so anyone carrying on, shouldn’t feel too overwhelmed.
I can’t see why RM wouldn’t settle the remaining cases as they won’t want cases getting to tribunal and setting a precedent which could end up over riding the collective agreement.

Re: Time for collective legal representation ?
to be honest i am not wasting anymore time or money to resubmit all my claims which the crumbling workers union said you have to do if you want to continue your et claim and i am not wasting my money on legal people to represent me either
, they can ram it , i think we have been left in the shite by the union for a s**t agreement ( again )
, but i will be saving £190 a year for pulling my cwu subs so that will be my average holiday pay
, because when you look at the agreement there wont be to many that will hit the criteria so its not a big loss.
