Burton's Asda post office is closed until further notice

A post office had been forced to close due to technical difficulties, it has been confirmed. The Asda store's post office closed on Sunday following a technical issue with its equipment, but it is not yet known when it will reopen.

A sign in the post office says: 'Due to unforeseen circumstances the post office will remained closed until further notice.'

The store, in Orchard Street, Burton, remains open as usual, but shoppers wanting the post office services are being urged to visit alternative post offices in Stapenhill or Wellington Street, Burton.

A spokesman for the Post Office said: "We would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Burton Post Office. This is due to an operational problem. We are working hard to restore services to the area as soon as possible. In the meantime, customers can access Post Office services at any branch including Stapenhill and Wellington Street Post Office."
