A recent NFSP survey found 66% of Post Office retailers support the new online parcel sales service

The Post Office (PO) has backtracked on its pledge to work with retailers outside of the NFSP to develop its upcoming profit-share scheme.

In September, PO revealed plans to give retailers a share of profits made from a new online parcel sales service, stating: “We expect to finalise the mechanism of this profit share over the next few months working closely with the NFSP and other postmasters.”

However, when asked by retailers in the CWU about taking part in the consultation, PO said there had been an “error” and it would “consult with the NFSP only, on all matters relating to postmaster remuneration”.

PO said this exclusivity is a term in its agreement with the NFSP.

A recent NFSP survey found 66% of PO retailers support the new online parcel sales service.
