Need some advice

Post by PhilMitch »

Hi,

I know the delays with hwdc langley but I'm wondering should I ring them up.

The reason is because I asked if he put a valuation on the package and he said no.
The thing is I never purchased anything as it was a gift with no real monetary value.

It's coming from the US and it's been stuck at hwdc langley, I'm just wondering if I need to ring up to clear it.
The last USPS update was on the 8th January "Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW" UM603613785US

Kind regards,

Phil

As far as we are aware, you can't contact customs.

Several posters on here have claimed to have spoken to them, none have ever put the phone number up when asked.

I've got a picture of what he sent.
My address isn't on it but it does have my order reference. Is my address put on it when it arrives here?
Or has he labelled it wrong? It's been stuck at "Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW" for almost 4 weeks now.

No.

He may have labelled it wrong, however, most US packets would have your address to the left of what you have pictured. Also in the USA they usually have the return address and the target address on the front. Its possible that the address is on there, just not within the shot.

Hopefully there is a customs declaration on the parts of the parcel we can’t see.

I know for a fact he didn't do that. Would that mean it will be sent back to him or what happens?

Depends on the contents and whether they can be accepted into the UK. But them not putting a customs declaration on it will be the cause of the delay. It's also possible that you may incur extra charges before its released.

It's nothing valuable, not even £30. If they put a arbitrary number on the value I'll let it be shipped back.
At the moment it hasn't even reached customs, it's still stuck at "Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW". 🙁

On the tracking info it says "Foreign Receipt" does that mean it's wrong? My other parcel from the US never said this.

No idea. Never seen this before.

If you have a tracking number try tweeting @royalmailhelp or the USPS equivalent @USPSHelp .

UPDATE!!! The tracking got updated on the 8th April saying it's back in the US. The last update was on the 8th January.

It should hopefully be back with the sender in a couple days.
