Hi,

I have posted two parcels to Brazil - Tracking numbers: LB315683573GB and LB315683560GB.

The status of the items are " Your item is now leaving the UK. More information will be available when it arrives in the destination country." since the 30th of June.

I've written to Royal mail enquiring and they responded with a generic message saying not to contact them for 45 days after I have placed a claim.
I tried to place a claim and it says that I have to wait for 25 working days before I can make a claim...

The Parcel contains t-shirts and clothing items as presents for my young nephews birthdays who have been waiting eagerly for their presents.

How can I find out where the parcel is?
Why is it taking so long for the location to be updated?
Will the parcel be returned to me it doesn't reach the destination?

Posted an LP to Russia tracked and signed for service. According to RM tracking it is still in transit. In reality the recipient has had it for about a week now. So much for the efficacy of RM International Tracked and Signed service.

Maybe try the Brazilian Post Service's track and trace website?

Just how does RM have any control over what happens to an item once it's been handed to customs at the destination country? :wink:

No control but the tracking numbers get scanned onto the destination country's postal operators tracking system at some point so a swift check there might provide more info than is available to RM no? The black hole of customs may indeed have swallowed the parcels for the meantime but they may also have already spat them out the other side.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the replies.

Yes, I have checked the correios (Brazilian postoffice) website.
It says that the item is been sent from the UK to Brazil and they'll update the location when they receive the item.

So, hard to know if the item has left the UK or not.
In the meanwhile I have 3 disappointed young children anxiously waiting for their presents... Fingers crossed!
